Job Description

Job Overview As a Product Support Engineer you will help solve customer issues related to our scientific instruments, you will install the instrument, globally, and you will provide in-depth training to internal associates. You will be a part of an organization that is growing and advancing our technology!
Responsibilities:
The Product Support Engineer will: Install, maintain, and repair high tech scientific equipment at customer sites both domestic and international. Provide technical support for end users (our customers who buy our instrument) Rapid response to problems in the field Support the installation of our scientific instruments Conduct site inspections prior to installation Conduct factory testing of new Atom Probe instruments and major upgrades Provide customer training Provide training to our Field Service teams - Global Team members Conduct skill evaluations of our Field Serviceteams members Build training materials Assist in system-level testing of repaired parts for Service inventory Provide support for in-house instruments Extensive travel (domestic and international)
Skills & Attributes:
Must be competent in the knowledge and use of handheld tools Ability to work with complex, delicate components Ability to read and follow standard operating procedures, policies and work instructions Must have experience in troubleshooting and problem-solving A basic understanding of chemistry and physics Professional appearance and behavior Strong interpersonal skills High-energy person with positive attitude Self-starter and finisher Ability to work under pressure in a fast pace, ever changing environment Vacuum systems: turbomolecular pumps, ion pumps, ion vacuum gauges, cryo-pumps, etc., and familiarity with UHV practices High speed electronics: basic electronics skills including familiarity with diagnostic tools such as oscilloscopes, TDRs, multimeters, etc.
Lasers:
optical components (photo diodes, mirrors, lenses, beam samplers), relevant tools (beam profilers, spectrum analyzers, power meters, etc.), and a basic understanding of laser safety practices Electrical and electromechanical systems: high voltage (cabling, breakdown, safety, etc.), power distribution, uninterruptible power supplies, pneumatic solenoids, transducers, motors
Computers:
networking, administrative hardware and software tasks, word processing, etc.
Education:
Associate degree in electronics, electro-mechanical, or related field Military electronics training and/or years of experience may be considered in place of degree 3 to 5 years relevant field service experience on high tech scientific instruments will be considered an advantage
Job Type:

$90,000.00 - $115,000.00 per year
