About Our Field Service Engineer Our ideal candidate is a self-motivated engineer with a strong desire to learn and apply technical knowledge to real-world equipment. If you are mechanically and electronically inclined and enjoy hands-on troubleshooting, diagnostics, and problem-solving in the field, this is the role for you. This is an active, field-based position—you may be on your feet for 90% to 95% of the workday and will be expected to safely lift and carry items up to 50 pounds. A strong commitment to safety in oil and natural gas and refinery environments is essential. Responsibilities Read and interpret machine drawings, schematics, and technical manuals Install, commission, and service mechanical equipment at customer sites; successfully complete any certification and testing requirements as needed Travel to customer sites as needed, approximately 50% of the time; perform diagnostics, repairs, and testing on in house mechanical equipment when not in the field Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams to resolve recurring issues and recommend design and process improvements from field experience These are some of the more frequent tasks you could expect to perform during your workday, but you may be called upon to fulfill other duties as needed.

Effectively communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences, including customers, field personnel, and internal engineering/manufacturing teams through clear written reports and verbal updates
Collaboration:
Work cross-functionally with engineering, operations, and service teams to troubleshoot issues, share insights, and drive continuous improvement in equipment performance and reliability
Ownership & Work Ethic:
Demonstrate a strong sense of accountability, urgency, and prioritization—balancing field service demands, project timelines, and customer needs in a fast-paced environment
Technical & Analytical Aptitude:
Apply engineering principles in real-world scenarios, with strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve complex equipment and system issues involving both mechanical and electro-mechanical components The Welker team is a diverse and motivated group. These key skills keep our Service department running smoothly. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field Must have strong technical aptitude, good problem-solving abilities, and the skills to learn and understand product mechanics, electrical wiring, and electronics Ability to read and understand machine drawings, schematics, and manufacturing instructions This position requires some travel and compliance with customer site requirements including a clean driving record, routine drug testing and physicals, and occasional wearing of breathing equipment and other protective equipment that may require minimal facial hair or other accommodations 1-3 years of hands on or field experience is preferred but not required This is a full-time, in person position. The starting annual salary is determined by experience, education, and potential.
