Job Description
Field Service Engineer -
Position OverviewWe are seeking a proactive Field Service Engineer to install, commission, maintain, and repair industrial equipment at customer sites. The role combines hands-on technical work with customer-facing responsibilities to ensure equipment operates reliably and meets performance expectations. The Field Service Engineer will travel regularly, diagnose problems both onsite and remotely, and drive continuous improvement through clear documentation and feedback to engineering teams.
Key ResponsibilitiesInstall and commission new equipment and systems at customer facilities according to manufacturer specifications and project schedules.
Perform preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and electronic faults to minimize downtime.
Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues on site and via remote support tools, escalating to engineering when required.
Provide technical training and guidance to customers and on-site operators to ensure safe and efficient use of equipment.
Maintain accurate service reports, test records, and parts inventories using company systems; ensure timely submission of documentation.
Qualifications4-5+ years of field service, maintenance, or commissioning experience with plastic injection molding, industrial machinery, automation systems.
Able to identify equipment functional locations and state general equipment functions for injection molding machine sub-assemblies (clamp unit (IM), plasticizing unit, injection unit, hydraulic unit, and robots).Ability to read chemical flow schematics, hydraulic flow schematics, electrical schematics as well as navigate OEM documentation.
RPM equipment (hydraulic presses, electrical presses, rotary conveyors, hydraulic unit, and robots).Valid drivers license and willingness to travel regularly, including regional and overnight trips.

Chicago to Milwaukee to Indy - this is a traveling role Mon-Fri and will stay in this area mostlyPay:
