The company specializes in the design, manufacturing, and service of plates and gaskets for all makes and models of plate heat exchangers (PHE). These PHEs offer our clients high reliability of heat transfer, low capital investment and installation costs, reducing maintenance, operating costs, wear, and corrosion.
Job Summary:
The Lead Field Service Technician is responsible for providing on-site technical support, maintenance, and repair services for all makes and models of plate heat exchangers (PHE) and related equipment. In addition, the Lead Field Service Technician assists with assignment of daily tasks to team members and provides coaching and feedback to less experienced team members. This role is responsible for diagnosing and repairing plates and gaskets for all makes and models of PHE and related equipment, and requires exceptional interpersonal skills, excellent troubleshooting skills, and the ability to work in diverse environments.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform onsite troubleshooting, diagnosis, installing, adjusting and repairing leaks, plates and gaskets for all makes and models of plate heat exchangers (PHE), and other related equipment.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including cleaning, lubricating, adjusting, pressure washing, dye testing, and gasketing plates to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.
  • Replace or repair defective parts, components, or wiring as needed to restore heating systems to proper working condition.
  • Test heating systems to ensure they meet performance standards and safety regulations.
  • Provide technical assistance and guidance to customers on how to operate and maintain their heat exchanger equipment effectively.
  • Respond to work order requests in a timely fashion; participate in on-call for after-hours service and holiday hours as required.
  • Proper management of non-hazardous and hazardous waste as needed according to training level
  • Document all service and repair activities, including parts used, labor hours, and diagnostic findings, accurately and thoroughly.
  • Communicate effectively with customers to explain repair options, provide cost estimates, and answer any questions or concerns.
  • Adhere to company safety policies and procedures at all times to ensure a safe working environment for self and others.
  • Assist in training and mentoring less experienced technicians.
  • Stay knowledgeable of current trends, technologies, and best practices through ongoing training and professional development.
  • Maintain certifications as needed.
  • All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Experience as a Service Technician or other related fields preferred
  • Some leadership experience preferred
  • Strong knowledge of heating system components, controls, and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Excellent mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with hydraulic/pneumatic tooling and related industry tools and equipment
  • Ability to read and interpret diagrams, schematics, and technical manuals.
  • Must have basic aptitude and be comfortable with math and calculations.
  • Customer-focused mindset with exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
  • Ability and willingness to travel to various work sites in area of responsibility at any time, and with little to no previous notice.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible schedule to accommodate customer needs.
  • All other duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to stand, walk, and lift heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) regularly.
  • Fieldwork is a significant component of this role, often traveling using various methods of transportation.
  • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.

Work Status:
Full Time - Work hours are Monday through Friday with flexibility to work different or extended shifts, including weekends and holidays as needed.
