NSC Skilled Trades is seeking an experienced Field Service Tech III for long-term work in Costa Mesa, CA .

Overview The Field Service Technician III performs advanced level activities on 5 years experience in Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) and Emergency Lighting Inverters installed at customer locations, while representing the company in a professional manner as required by performing the following duties. Essential Duties & Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following. Other duties may be assigned as required by departmental needs. Follows safety practices and protocols per
NFPA 70E
at all times Travels to customer locations in a company vehicle to perform service activities Performs system start up and commissioning on equipment per factory requirements Performs maintenance to ensure compliance with product specifications Installs or replaces batteries in inverter and BESS systems Troubleshoots and repairs advanced level issues Performs advanced modifications on inverters and BESS systems Provides service on obsolete equipment Performs replacements of inverters when required Works early morning, nights or weekends that may include overnight stays in a hotel whenever customer schedules require it Provides professional, courteous and excellent customer service Completes necessary job documentation per department procedures Provides guidance to Field Service Technicians during their work assignments to develop skills Follows work schedules made by service coordinators Uses company-issued tools, equipment and software to perform work Provides training to customer representatives when required Documents any warranty issues and if possible, makes recommendations to avoid issues in the future. Provides technical support and troubleshooting to 3rd party technicians, in-house technicians, and customers as required.
Requirements:
Education / Experience Associate degree (A. A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or two years technical training related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience plus 5+ years of experience as a field service technician. Travels to customer locations in a company vehicle Maintenance/testing/troubleshooting AC/DC med voltage MUST know the DC voltage 277-40 Switch gears Low voltage electronics Batteries Inverters Some overnight travel required from time to time•the company pays expenses.
