This role is responsible for completing service calls, coordinating day-to-day field execution, supporting junior techs, maintaining quality standards, and ensuring jobs are completed safely, efficiently, and professionally. The ideal candidate is a strong hands-on technician with excellent customer service skills, leadership ability, and a mindset of solving problems the right way the first time. Responsibilities Perform commercial service work including (but not limited to): General maintenance repairs and troubleshooting Drywall repair, paint, minor carpentry, door hardware Minor electrical (where permitted), lighting, outlets, ballast replacements Minor plumbing repairs (toilets, faucets, valves, leaks) Concrete patching, sidewalk/curb repairs (as applicable) Roof leak troubleshooting and minor roof repairs/patching Ceiling tile replacements, insulation, and basic facility repairs Diagnose issues on-site and recommend repair plans and materials needed. Ensure jobs are completed to company standards and customer expectations. Leadership & Team Support Act as the "go-to" field leader and support technician for service operations. Train and mentor junior technicians and subcontractors as needed. Help coordinate workflow and ensure techs are productive and prepared. Provide job updates, photos, and documentation for closeouts. Customer Communication Communicate professionally with property managers, tenants, and site contacts. Explain repair needs clearly and set realistic expectations. Maintain strong customer service and represent M5 Services positively on-site. Job Documentation & Reporting Accurately complete service ticket notes, before/after photos, and material usage. Track time, job status, and completion details using company tools/app. Identify recurring issues or improvement opportunities and report them to leadership. Safety & Company Standards Follow all safety guidelines and PPE requirements. Maintain a clean, organized work vehicle and jobsite. Ensure work complies with applicable codes, company processes, and customer requirements. Experience Required 3+ years of experience in commercial maintenance, facilities, or service trades Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to work independently Valid driver's license with clean driving record Ability to lead jobs and manage service calls with minimal supervision Professional demeanor and strong communication skills Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work on ladders / rooftops when needed Preferred 5+ years of experience in commercial service work Experience in property management service environments OSHA 10 (or willingness to obtain) Certifications in electrical, HVAC, plumbing, or related trades (a plus) Experience quoting small jobs or preparing material lists Join us as a Field Service Technician and contribute to our mission of delivering high-quality service to our clients while advancing your career in a dynamic environment.
