electrical safety protocols Driver's License Test Execution (Quality assurance practices) Equipment testing Full Job Description Field Service Technician San Diego, California | Full-Time, Field-Based A nationally recognized electrical power services company is hiring Field Service Technicians to perform acceptance and maintenance testing on medium- and high-voltage equipment across utility, industrial, and data center sites. This is a hands-on, field-based role for technicians who take pride in quality workmanship and operate with a safety-first mindset. Title and compensation are set by certification level and field experience, with openings spanning Level II through Level IV. Schedule Full-time, field-based out of San Diego, California, with up to 50% travel depending on client and project. Standard regional rotation is Monday out, Friday home, with weekends protected. Overtime is available on active projects. Compensation Hourly pay is tiered by level: Level II at 35 to 60 per hour, Level III at 65 to 75 per hour, and Level IV at 75 to 85 or more per hour. Additional compensation includes per diem (approximately 127 per day at GSA rate), company card or full expense reimbursement, and covered travel (lodging, flights, and rental car as applicable). What You'll Do You will perform acceptance and maintenance testing to NETA standards on medium- and high-voltage equipment, including low- and medium-voltage switchgear, power transformers, circuit breakers, and protective relays and protection systems. You will execute lockout/tagout and safety procedures in compliance with NFPA 70E and conduct arc-flash and shock hazard evaluations as required. You will analyze test results, identify deficiencies, generate detailed field service reports, and provide timely updates to management and clients on findings and project status. Responsibility scales with level. Level II technicians execute testing under supervision while building a technical foundation. Level III technicians lead small crews and own portions of projects independently. Level IV technicians serve as subject matter experts and lead techs, handling client-facing work, full project ownership, and mentoring of junior staff and trainees. Required Qualifications 2 to 8 or more years of electrical testing experience (range is level dependent) Strong understanding of power distribution systems Familiarity with NETA standards and

Hands-on apparatus testing experience (NETA or
NICET EPT
certification preferred but not required) Ability to travel up to 50% Valid driver's license with a clean driving record Ability to pass a background check and drug screening Preferred Qualifications NETA certification (Level II, III, or IV)
