Our STARS values are Service, Teamwork, Accountability, Respect and Safety. Field Service Rep B/Meter Reader Rep (Union Labor Grade 5)
Hours:
Monday - Friday 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. (when meter reading). 8am-4:30pm (when Field Service Tech)
Purpose & Scope:
To perform tasks associated with the operation and maintenance of the Authority's water distribution system.
Responsibilities:
Provide service and customer support during field visits Read water consumption meters and enter data in hand-held computers. (Opted out acct, no reading device, inoperable reading device, etc.) Upload read data from hand-held computers if required. Inspect, investigate reading devices and repair/replace them if required. Verifies reads and meter resolution (number of dials) Helper on 2-man Field Service jobs Simple installs, removal and changes of small meters (5/8 - 1") Turn-On and Turn-Off curb valves (Collections, repairs, emergencies, vacant, etc.) Completes customer requested waste inspections. Hand deliver notices/letters. Reports maintenance or equipment problems to appropriate Field Service personnel. Performs Meter Reading and Field Service related duties as assigned Operate vehicle in a safely manner and use field automation systems, tools and equipment.
Qualifications:
Valid Connecticut driver's license required. High School diploma or equivalent. Be able to read, write and speak English. Strong communication skills to work with customers. Must be able to interpret basic drawings/service sketches. Ability to pass a physical demand screening. Must be able to wear and use appropriate personal protective equipment, as necessary. Familiarity with mobile tools and applications (i.e. iPads, hand-held computers, mobile phones, GIS, Outlook, etc.) Must be able to lift up to 55lbs. The RWA is seeking candidates that reflect our
