FIELD SERVICE TECHNICIAN - WASHINGTON, D.C. AREA

Field-Based Pay:
$24.00 - $29.00 per hour, plus overtime eligibility
Job Type:
Full-Time, Direct Hire Travel:
Up to 80%, including overnight travel

JOB PURPOSE
The Field Service Technician supports Quest International customers by installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electro-mechanical equipment at customer sites. This role requires hands-on repair ability, travel readiness, strong documentation habits, and professional customer communication.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Travel to customer sites for equipment installation, preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair. Service medical, industrial, diagnostic, lab, manufacturing, OEM, and electro-mechanical equipment. Troubleshoot equipment issues using a digital multimeter, hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment. Repair or replace failed parts, modules, assemblies, wiring, connectors, sensors, motors, power supplies, circuit boards, and harnesses. Follow service manuals, SOPs, safety procedures, and customer-site requirements. Document service activity, repair findings, parts used, and next steps accurately. Communicate professionally with customers, internal teams, and service leadership.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
1+ year of hands-on technical repair, maintenance, installation, field service, industrial maintenance, medical equipment service, appliance repair, automotive diagnostics, electronics repair, or electro-mechanical experience. Experience using a digital multimeter or similar diagnostic tool. Experience with wiring, connectors, harnesses, mechanical assemblies, electronic components, or equipment modules. Ability to read and follow service procedures, diagrams, technical documentation, SOPs, and safety requirements. Valid driver's license. Reliable personal vehicle for work-related travel. Ability to obtain and maintain required auto insurance coverage. Ability to travel up to 80%, including overnight travel. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform field service work in customer-site environments. Ability to complete the required Human Performance Test. Pay alignment with $24.00 - $29.00 per hour.
REQUIRED AUTO INSURANCE COVERAGE
Candidates using a personal vehicle for work-related travel must be able and willing to maintain: $100,000 bodily injury liability per person $100,000 property damage liability $300,000 bodily injury liability per accident
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience with medical, industrial, diagnostic, lab, manufacturing, optical, or OEM equipment. Experience with FRU, module, part-level, or component-level troubleshooting. Experience replacing boards, sensors, motors, wiring, power supplies, connectors, harnesses, or assemblies. Experience using an oscilloscope, pressure/vacuum meter, frequency counter, power supply, or diagnostic tester. Military technical training, trade school, BMET, electronics, electrical, automotive, aviation, robotics, industrial maintenance, or mechatronics background. Strong service documentation habits.
WORKING CONDITIONS
This is a field-based role requiring frequent travel to customer sites throughout the assigned territory. Overnight travel may be required up to 80% of the time. Work may take place in medical, industrial, diagnostic, lab, manufacturing, OEM, or controlled environments. The role requires standing, bending, lifting up to 50 lbs, using tools, handling equipment, and following customer-site safety requirements.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
Pay Range:
$24.00 - $29.00 per hour
Overtime:
Overtime eligible based on business need, travel, customer-site work, and applicable wage-and-hour requirements
