As a leading distributor of industrial flow and flow control equipment, specializing in valves, control valves, actuated valves, and valve accessories, Fluid Control Specialties, LLC. provides vital parts and services necessary for water treatment facilities to operate at peak efficiency. FCS joined Vessco Water in 2021.
POSITION SUMMARY
As a Field Service Technician, you will be responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, maintaining, and testing industrial valves and related flow control equipment used in water, wastewater, and industrial applications within our facility. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering high-quality service and repairs. You will work closely with other technicians to ensure the timely inspection, maintenance, repair, and testing of valves, actuators, and associated components to meet customer and industry standards.
KEY DUTIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Perform field service repair, maintenance, troubleshooting, and inspection of industrial valves, actuators, and flow control equipment used in water, wastewater, and industrial applications. Test, diagnose, disassemble, clean, rebuild, and reassemble valves and related components in accordance with manufacturer specifications and customer requirements. Perform preventative and corrective maintenance activities to ensure equipment operates safely, efficiently, and reliably in the field. Utilize diagnostic tools, testing equipment, and technical resources to identify equipment performance issues and determine appropriate corrective actions. Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, specifications, and IOM (Installation, Operation, and Maintenance) manuals to support equipment repair, installation, and troubleshooting activities. Perform functional, operational, and pressure testing to verify equipment performance following repair, maintenance, or refurbishment activities. Ensure all work is completed in accordance with company quality standards, safety procedures, manufacturer guidelines, and customer expectations. Complete detailed field service reports documenting inspections, repairs performed, testing results, and parts utilized during service activities. Communicate professionally with customers regarding equipment conditions, repair recommendations, project updates, and service findings. Maintain a professional, customer-focused attitude while working collaboratively with customers, team members, engineers, and management. Work closely with fellow technicians and leadership to continuously improve field service operations, safety, efficiency, and overall service quality.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
1 year experience with industrial equipment performance testing and calibration. Valid Driver's License Required Knowledge of safety regulations related to industrial equipment and work environments. Strong written and verbal communication skills Positive attitude, eager to learn and expand knowledge Ability to work independently and with a team Strong sense of time organization and urgency
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma, GED, or equivalent

This position may involve exposure to seasonal weather conditions, moving mechanical parts, electrical equipment, fumes, and airborne particles, requiring adherence to all safety procedures and protocols. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
