Focused on serving customers in Florida, Georgia, Alabama and Mississippi our knowledgeable staff of sales, service, and support personnel is comprised of over 300 employees. We are seeking a talented and competitive Mobile Equipment Service Technician that thrives in providing quality customer service and solutions. Key Responsibilities:
include but are not limited to the following. Other duties may be assigned as needed. Complete service and repairs of SCBA's and related equipment. Perform SCBA flow testing, mask leak testing and customer mask fit testing Prepare and submit proper paperwork in a timely manner. Prompt response to customers when scheduled for service or repairs. Maintain contact with customers; prior to scheduled service and follow up after job is complete. Maintain correct parts inventory. Maintain service vehicle cleanliness and appearance. Successfully complete the
MSA C.A.R.E.
(Certified Air mask Repair Education) certified maintenance program within 90 days of hire date. (Providing class is available.)
Required Qualifications:
To successfully perform this job, an individual must be able to carry out each essential duty effectively. The qualifications outlined below represent the knowledge, skills, and abilities that are required or preferred for this position.
Education:
High school diploma or GED required.
Experience:
Experience in a mechanical environment and ability to use hand tools.
Travel:
Regular travel throughout the designated service territory is required, including occasional travel to Florida.
Skills and Abilities:
Proficient in Microsoft Office functions, specifically Excel. Strong organizational and communication skills. Ability to interpret service orders, technical manuals. Proficient in-service management software. Customer service-oriented with a professional demeanor. Able to read and understand basic instructions, short communications, and emails. Capable of writing standard correspondence and communicating effectively in English, both verbally and in writing. Proficient in basic mathematics, including algebra and geometry. Ability to apply common sense and critical thinking to follow written and verbal instructions and resolve issues involving multiple variables within standard guidelines. Capable of working independently on assigned tasks while also responding well to direction and collaborative assignments. Adhere to all company safety procedures and industry regulations, actively identifying and reporting potential hazards to promote a safe working environment.
Working Conditions:
This position is primarily based in a service and repair shop environment with regular interaction at customer facilities. The role requires working with self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA), respiratory protection equipment, testing devices, tools, and replacement parts. Employees must be comfortable performing detailed inspections, diagnostics, repairs, flow testing, mask leak testing, and customer fit testing while adhering to established safety standards and manufacturer specifications. Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, and reach for extended periods throughout the workday. Frequently lift, carry, push, and pull equipment and materials weighing up to 50 pounds; occasionally lift heavier items with assistance or appropriate equipment. Perform repetitive hand and wrist movements while using hand tools, testing equipment, and repair instruments. Possess sufficient manual dexterity to assemble, disassemble, inspect, and repair SCBA components and related equipment. Ability to distinguish colors, read gauges, inspect small parts, and identify defects through close visual inspection. Safely operate hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic testing equipment. Work in shop, warehouse, and customer facility environments, including exposure to varying temperatures, noise levels, and industrial settings. Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) and comply with all applicable safety policies and procedures. Ability to travel regularly throughout the designated service territory and perform on-site service at customer locations.
