Field Service Technician (NETA II/III/IV or Equivalent Experience)

MUST-HAVE QUALIFICATIONS
2-8+ years of electrical testing experience (level dependent) Hands-on experience with medium and/or high-voltage apparatus testing Strong working knowledge of power distribution systems Familiarity with NETA standards and
NFPA 70E
safety practices Ability to analyze test results and identify equipment deficiencies Experience generating detailed field service reports Valid driver's license with clean driving record Ability to pass background check and drug screening Willingness to travel up to 50% (project-dependent)
ROLE OVERVIEW
We are seeking skilled Field Service Technicians to support acceptance and maintenance testing of electrical power systems across utility, industrial, and data center environments. This is a field-intensive role for professionals who are confident in high-voltage environments, take ownership of their work, and prioritize safety, accuracy, and technical excellence. Placement level and compensation are based on certification level and verified field experience.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Field Testing & Technical Execution Perform acceptance and maintenance testing in accordance with NETA standards Test and troubleshoot electrical equipment including: Low and medium-voltage switchgear Power transformers Circuit breakers Protective relays and protection systems Execute LOTO procedures and comply with
NFPA 70E
safety standards Conduct arc-flash and shock hazard assessments as required Reporting & Documentation Interpret test data and identify equipment deficiencies Prepare comprehensive field service reports Communicate findings, issues, and project updates to clients and management Team & Leadership Expectations Support or lead field crews depending on certification level Mentor junior technicians as applicable
Level Expectations:
Level II:
Performs testing under supervision; building core technical skills
Level III:
Independently leads small crews and project scopes
Level IV:
Subject matter expert; full project ownership and client-facing leadership
CERTIFICATIONS
(Preferred but Not Required) Candidates will be considered with any of the following: NETA Certification (Level II-IV)
NICET EPT
Certification (Level II-IV) Strong hands-on apparatus testing experience may substitute for certification
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE OSHA
30, CPR/First Aid certifications Experience with PowerDB Familiarity with OEM test equipment such as Megger, Doble, Omicron, or equivalent platforms
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
Level Experience Hourly Range Level II ~2-4 years / NETA II or equivalent $35
  • $60/hr Level III ~5-8 years / NETA III or equivalent $65
  • $75/hr Level IV 8+ years / NETA IV or equivalent $75
  • $85+/hr

TRAVEL & WORK ENVIRONMENT
