Compensation:
$85,000 - $120,000+ Total Compensation Potential (Hourly + Overtime + Per Diem + Company Vehicle/Travel Support) A growing industrial machinery organization is seeking multiple Field Service Technicians to support installation, troubleshooting, startup, maintenance, and repair of advanced manufacturing equipment across North America. This is an excellent opportunity for mechanically and electrically skilled technicians who enjoy customer interaction, travel, and hands-on problem solving in industrial environments. This role supports a variety of industrial equipment including CNC machinery, press brakes, fiber lasers, saw systems, hydraulic equipment, and automated manufacturing systems. π οΈ Key Responsibilities Install, commission, troubleshoot, and service industrial manufacturing equipment at customer facilities Diagnose electrical, PLC, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical issues Read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and technical documentation Perform preventative maintenance, machine inspections, and repairs Support machine startup, calibration, and operator training Work directly with plant managers, operators, setup personnel, and maintenance teams Complete service reports and communicate technical findings clearly Travel to customer sites throughout the U.S. and occasionally Canada β‘ Desired Background 2+ years of experience as a Field Service Technician, Maintenance Technician, or Industrial Service Engineer Experience working on CNC equipment, industrial machinery, automation systems, lasers, press brakes, saws, stamping equipment, or similar manufacturing machinery Strong electrical troubleshooting ability preferred Working knowledge of PLC systems (Mitsubishi experience is a plus) Mechanical and hydraulic troubleshooting experience Ability to read electrical schematics and mechanical drawings Comfortable working independently in customer-facing environments Ability and willingness to travel 50-70% Overtime flexibility and occasional overnight travel required π Preferred Experience Candidates with experience from the following environments are highly attractive: CNC machinery Machine tool OEMs Industrial automation Metal fabrication equipment Laser cutting systems Press brake equipment Packaging or converting machinery High-speed manufacturing equipment Industrial maintenance or controls environments π Compensation & Benefits Competitive hourly or salaried compensation depending on experience Significant overtime opportunity Per diem and travel reimbursement Company vehicle or vehicle allowance Medical, dental, and vision insurance PTO and paid holidays Career advancement opportunities Stable, growth-oriented environment with strong long-term demand π Ideal Candidate This position is ideal for a technician who: Enjoys hands-on troubleshooting and field work Wants higher earning potential through overtime and travel Prefers variety over repetitive factory work Is comfortable interacting directly with customers Thrives in fast-paced industrial environments Wants long-term career growth within industrial equipment and automation π Target Compensation Band (Illinois Market)
