Job Description

Restoration Technician Overview The Restoration Technician serves as a first responder to property loss situations in both residential and commercial settings. This role involves performing mitigation and restoration services to address damages caused by water, fire, smoke, mold, storms, and environmental factors. Technicians are instrumental in restoring structures and contents, as well as providing peace of mind to customers during emergencies. The service area will be in the Northern Suburbs into Southern Wisconsin. Responsibilities Perform water extraction, drying, and dehumidification Clean and restore areas affected by fire and smoke Complete microbial remediation, demolition, and debris removal Pack, move, and inventory contents during restoration projects Support job sites with setup, breakdown, and equipment management Participate in an on‑call rotation for after‑hours and emergency response Provide calm, respectful, and empathetic customer service during stressful situations Essential Skills Experience in construction, general labor, carpentry, or property restoration. Proficiency with hand and power tools. Capability in demolition, cleaning, and remediation tasks. Ability to work effectively in emergency response environments. Additional Skills & Qualifications IICRC certifications are a plus (training and certification support provided) Ability to follow safety standards and job procedures Comfortable working in varied conditions (humidity, debris, confined spaces, ladders/heights) Able to lift and maneuver equipment/materials (25+ lbs) Strong communication skills and a team‑first mindset Why Work Here? Work Environment This is a field‑based role working at residential and commercial job sites impacted by water, fire, storm, or environmental damage. The service area will be in the Northern Suburbs into Southern Wisconsin. Schedules may include nights, weekends, and emergency call‑outs. The work is physically active and hands‑on. The company will provide necessary equipment, safety training, and protocols to ensure your success in the field. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Wauconda, IL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $25.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
