Job Title:
Field Service Technician Job Description The Field Service Technician performs specialized baghouse maintenance and repair work at customer sites, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality execution of all tasks. This role involves extensive travel, hands-on mechanical work, and close adherence to safety standards while working in demanding industrial environments. Responsibilities Perform baghouse tasks such as filter bag and cage installation, baghouse repairs, and other related maintenance activities as directed by the Baghouse Crew Supervisor. Develop and maintain a strong working knowledge of all products, installation techniques, and specifications used on assigned projects. Read and interpret schematics and blueprints to complete installations and repairs accurately. Use hand tools and mechanical repair techniques to troubleshoot and resolve issues with baghouse systems and related components. Ensure that vendors and contractors working on-site possess and maintain appropriate certifications required for safety compliance. Attend and complete all required customer site-specific training, as well as internal safety and baghouse training programs. Document and summarize job notes using a laptop or tablet, including work performed, observations, and any issues encountered. Communicate effectively via email to provide updates, submit reports, and coordinate with supervisors and team members. Travel frequently to various customer locations, sometimes up to 100% of the time, to perform on-site service and support. Follow all safety procedures, including the proper use of respirators and other personal protective equipment, when working in dusty or high-temperature environments. Essential Skills Mechanical aptitude with experience in repair and maintenance tasks. Proficiency using hand tools in construction or industrial environments. Ability to troubleshoot mechanical issues and apply practical solutions. Ability to read and understand schematics and blueprints. Ability to use a laptop or tablet to document and summarize job notes and send emails. Capability to climb ladders up to 15 feet safely. Capability to climb stairs up to 7 stories safely. Ability to lift boxes, equipment, and parts weighing between 50 and 75 pounds. Willingness and ability to travel frequently, approximately 50-100% of the time. Commitment to following safety procedures and using required personal protective equipment, including respirators. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience working in construction, industrial, or field service environments. Familiarity with baghouse systems, filtration equipment, or similar industrial systems. Comfort working in elevated areas such as platforms, ladders, and multi-story structures. Strong attention to detail when following specifications, installation techniques, and safety requirements. Effective communication skills for coordinating with supervisors, contractors, and customers. Why Work Here? Work Environment You work primarily in industrial baghouse environments that can be dry, dirty, and very hot. The role requires wearing a respirator when working around dust and airborne particles inside the baghouse. You may frequently climb ladders and stairs to access elevated work areas and handle equipment and parts weighing up to 75 pounds. The position involves significant travel to various customer sites, where you follow site-specific safety protocols and operate in a physically demanding setting that relies on proper use of personal protective equipment and adherence to safety standards. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Hebron, KY. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
