Job Description
A Field Service Technician is a service professional who is accountable for carrying out on-site installation, maintenance and repairs to high-value food industry equipment Field Service Technician Responsibilities and Duties Serves existing accounts by analyzing work orders; planning daily travel schedule; investigating complaints; conducting tests; resolving problems. Establishes service by studying system requirements; ordering and gathering components and parts; completing installation; performing acceptance tests. Maintains rapport with customers by examining complaints; identifying solutions; suggesting improved methods and techniques; recommending system improvements. Documents service and installation actions by completing forms, reports, logs, and records. Service and Repair equipment on site at customer's locations Answer technical support calls and inquiries Diagnose and repair customer equipment in a timely manner Assist, diagnose and resolve all customer related mechanical, hardware, software and technical installations Provide quotes after determining the most cost-effective repair resolution to minimize customer downtime Develop and maintain positive customer relations; coordinate with various departments within the company to ensure customer requests are handled appropriately and in a timely manner. Must be able to read and interpret electrical diagrams and blueprints Knowledge of basic AC/DC theory, electronic components, and electronic circuitry
Field Service Technician Job Requirements:
Electrical & Mechanical troubleshooting skills. Ability to follow electrical schematic diagrams to diagnose and troubleshoot equipment. Experience servicing supermarket & restaurant equipment is preferred Ability to drive long distances and for long periods of time General knowledge of customer service practices and procedures Excellent communication skills Able to work overtime when required Must have current valid driver's license and clean driving record Must be able to lift 50lb plus Clean Driving Record a must Capable of completing tasks and repairs based upon directed supervision Skills, Knowledge and Abilities SKILLS are required to perform multiple tasks with a potential need to upgrade skills in order to meet changing job conditions. Specific skill-based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: adhering to safety practices; operating equipment used in warehouse operations; operating standard office equipment including pertinent software applications; and preparing and maintaining accurate records.KNOWLEDGE
is required to perform basic math; understand written procedures, write routine documents, and speak clearly; and understand multi-step written and oral instructions. Specific knowledge-based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: basic computer use, basic vehicle maintenance, and safety practices and procedures. ABILITY is required to schedule activities; collate data; and use basic, job-related equipment. Flexibility is required to work with others; work with data utilizing specific, defined processes; and operate equipment using standardized methods. Ability is also required to work with a wide diversity of individuals; work with similar types of data; and utilize job-related equipment. Some problem solving may be required to identify issues and select action plans. Problem solving with data may require independent interpretation; and problem solving with equipment is limited to moderate. Specific ability-based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: meeting deadlines and schedules; setting priorities; working in inclement weather; and physical stamina.
