Job Description
Kemper Equipment is currently seeking to immediately hire a full-time Field Service Technician Assistant to join our experienced and dedicated team. Summary of Responsibilities:
The role of Field Service Technician Assistant supports the Senior Field Service Technician(s). As a team, they are dispatched on field service calls to our client base in NY and New England for routine and emergency service, training, repairs, commissioning, and inspections of material handling and process equipment. The Field Service Technician Assistant is provided with hands-on learning from the Field Service Technician. The assistant will learn the following aspects of the Field Service Technician role:- Maintaining a safe working environment at all times including use of required Personal Protective Equipment
- Installation, commissioning, maintenance, trouble shooting, training, inspections, repairs, and rebuilds of installed equipment Train clients and fellow employees on general maintenance and operation of the equipment Service and maintain mining and quarrying material handling equipment above ground and underground Diagnosing and troubleshooting equipment issues including application, mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues Identify tools and methods needed to construct and assemble components Evaluate equipment performance and implement necessary modifications • Assemble structures made of steel • Welding, torching, rigging, use of large hand tools, etc.
- Use and maintaining 3equipment responsibly so as not to compromise safety
- Comfort with client and third-party teamwork to assemble equipment
- Accurately read schematics, drawings, blueprints, technical manuals, and literature
- Accurately and thoroughly document time, repairs, and parts used or needed on daily service reports.
- Extensive travel either self or in team setting with overnight and possible weekend stays
- Extended hours as needed to fulfill workload requirements
- Adhere to MSHA safety guidelines, policies, and procedures while working on MSHA regulated sites Additional expectations of the Assistant are to:
- Own personal set of basic hand tools. Specialty or heavy-duty items will be supplied by Kemper.
- Pay very close attention to instructions and guidance given by your trainer
- Pay close attention to all safety rules and practices accompanied by this position
- Be an extra set of eyes, ears, and support to your trainer
- Ask questions and never assume
- Communicate your needs and expectations to your trainer
- When not traveling to worksites, EESSCO in Hanson MA will be the main work location.
Qualifications:
Proven experience and skills desired in areas of mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, welding, diagnostic, and general maintenance. Aptitude and interest in machinery and equipment. Service or maintenance experience is desired in quarry and material handling equipment, including rock crushers, screens, feeders, and conveyors. Welding, torching, millwright and steel erection experience is desired. Ability to read schematics and drawings and understand technical manuals and literature. Ability to travel (including some overnights) with our crews as needed to client locations. Typically, Monday through Friday, some weekend work as needed in emergency situations. Experience is desired in use of hand tools, sanders, grinders, saws, drills, drill presses, welding equipment, torches, cutters, measuring tools, forklift, tele handlers, man lifts, overhead crane, various material handling and fabrication equipment.Compensation & Benefits:

Pay:
$22.00- $28.
