Job Description

Summary:
We are seeking a Field Service Technician to perform machine repair and troubleshooting at customer locations on CNC mills and lathes. This position requires frequent travel and occasional overnight stays. The role also includes some assembly of CNC machines and collaboration with engineering on new product designs. ________________________________________ Responsibilities (including but not limited to):
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair CNC machines, including electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical components.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, hydraulic diagrams, pneumatic schematics, mechanical drawings, and machine manuals.
  • Work with Fanuc, Fagor, and Acu-Rite controls for troubleshooting and programming.
  • Perform precision alignments and adjustments using tools such as micrometers, calipers, and indicators.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance and machine inspections.
  • Assist in the assembly and setup of new CNC machines.
  • Provide technical support and training to customers as needed.
  • Maintain service documentation and reports accurately.
  • Work independently to complete assignments efficiently while ensuring customer satisfaction.

Requirements:
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with CNC equipment.
  • Ability to read and understand electrical schematics, mechanical prints, pneumatic schematics, and machine manuals.
  • Experience with CNC controls, particularly Fanuc, Fagor, and Acu-Rite.
  • Comfortable using precision measurement tools (e.g., micrometers, calipers, dial indicators).
  • Ability to lift heavy items and perform physical tasks as needed.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Must be a self-motivated individual capable of working independently.
  • Willingness to travel frequently, including overnight stays.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; vocational training, technical certification, or apprenticeship is a plus.

  • Monday
  • Thursday:
    8:00 AM
  • 5:00 PM (1-hour lunch)
  • Friday:
    8:00 AM
  • 4:30 PM (½-hour lunch)
  • Some overtime as needed
