SW).Job DescriptionOur Livonia, MI laboratory is looking for a Field Services Technician to join their team! The Field Services Technician is responsible for performing field analyses and collecting environmental samples in accordance with federal, state, and company guidelines. The Field Services Technician is expected to follow all health and safety protocols and document all sampling activity as outlined in the company standard operating procedures. This position is required to commute to/from client sites to collect samples and deliver them to the laboratory. The Field Services Technician is expected to demonstrate safe defensive driving behavior and maintain a satisfactory driving record.

Job functions:

Collects soil, water, and waste samples from client sites in accordance with federal, state, and company guidelinesSchedules collection services and travels to client sites using a company vehiclePerforms analyses in the field in accordance with standard operating procedures; transports sampling equipment from location to locationDocuments all field sampling activities in an accurate and detailed mannerDelivers collected samples back to the laboratoryProvides exceptional customer service to internal and external clientsCompletes all required training to perform responsibilities in compliance with regulatory guidelinesAssists in Sample Management department as neededMust be comfortable performing all tasks in inclement weather and temperaturesPerforms other duties as assignedQualificationsHigh School Diploma or equivalent and 1 year of relevant experience (Required)Associate degree in a science-related field and experience in an environmental laboratory (strongly preferred)Must have a clean and valid driver's licenseMust be okay with handling different environmental conditionsAbility to follow safety protocolsStrong English language skillsAdditional InformationSGS is an Equal Opportunity Employer, and as such we recruit, hire, train, and promote persons in all job classifications without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability, age, marital status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, genetics, status as a protected veteran, or any other characteristics protected by law.
