Position Summary - The Field Service Technician is responsible for providing field service, technical support, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, installation assistance, and customer support for LasX laser processing systems. This role supports the full lifecycle of LaserSharp® automated laser systems through remote diagnostics, onsite service, equipment calibration, technical documentation, and customer training. The Field Technician works closely with Service, Engineering, Production, and Customer teams to ensure equipment reliability, customer satisfaction, and operational performance. Success is measured by customer satisfaction, equipment uptime, service responsiveness, preventive maintenance completion, technical issue resolution, and overall service performance. Key Responsibilities - Customer Support & Technical Service Provide professional technical support via phone, web-based tools, and onsite service visits. Diagnose and resolve equipment, controls, and system issues. Communicate technical findings and recommendations clearly to customers and internal teams. Field Service & Maintenance Perform onsite troubleshooting, repairs, preventive maintenance, and system calibrations. Support equipment installation, startup, and acceptance activities as needed. Ensure all service work is completed safely and in accordance with company procedures. Documentation & Coordination Complete service reports, maintenance records, and expense reports accurately and on time. Coordinate travel logistics and manage service-related administrative tasks. Collaborate with Engineering, Production, and Service teams to support customer requirements. Operational Support Assist with machine assembly, testing, and production support when not traveling. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and perform additional duties as assigned. Quality & Safety Follow all company and customer safety requirements. Maintain safe work practices and support quality standards throughout all service activities. Success Metrics Customer satisfaction Service response time Equipment uptime and reliability Preventive maintenance completion Service documentation accuracy Continuous improvement participation Qualifications - Experience 1-3 years of experience in field service, equipment maintenance, automation, or related technical roles. Experience troubleshooting electrical, mechanical, or control systems preferred. Skills & Capabilities Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics. Proficiency with Microsoft Windows and related software tools. Strong communication and customer service skills. Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities. Familiarity with industrial laser systems is a plus. Education Associate degree in a technical field preferred. Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered. Requirements Ability to travel up to 75%, including domestic and international travel. Valid U.S. passport and driver's license required. Ability to work in manufacturing and customer production environments. Ability to use computers, diagnostic equipment, and service tools. Ability to comply with all required PPE and safety requirements. Ability to pass required background checks and customer site access requirements.
Pay:
$29.00 - $34.00 per hour
