Job Description

Job Description - Field Support Operations (FSO) Recommend services and standards for supporting the End-User Compute and Field Services environment/end users Deploy and manage in-scope hardware and software Support end-user data backup, storage, and recovery services Provision and support remote site networks (e.g., LAN, WAN connections) and related operations including procurement, design, build, system monitoring, incident diagnostics, troubleshooting, resolution, escalation, security management, and capacity planning Provide support for stand-alone Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) systems Provide server break/fix and Level 2 support for equipment and system software, coordinated through the IT and Service Desk Provide Level 2 break/fix support for in-scope hardware and software Deliver remote and deskside support to authorized users as required Perform incident identification, root cause analysis, and resolution Manage and maintain inventory of in-scope software licenses Ensure software license compliance and reconcile installations with license rights Provide support for financial audits, as required Perform access control (file systems, disk space, etc.) for authorized users Manage and maintain hardware inventory, including asset tagging and tracking Provide technical support for remote site computing infrastructure hardware Establish procedures for equipment procurement and maintain spare inventory levels to meet operational and capacity needs Manage and maintain spare inventory for in-scope hardware devices and report inventory levels as per organizational policies Track requests for new devices, spare components, or peripherals Fulfill requests for replacement devices and peripherals from spare inventory Support provisioning of approved new devices, components, and peripherals Manage device lifecycle as part of ongoing refresh processes Provide guidance on infrastructure system software (e.g., operating systems, utilities) Implement and coordinate infrastructure changes that may impact service levels or third-party services Prepare and maintain project plans, cost estimates, technical specifications, and reporting documentation Identify and implement opportunities to improve utilization, availability, and cost efficiency Provide BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) support capabilities as required Support standard-approved projectors not covered under teleconferencing/video conferencing services A candidate's pay within the range will depend on their skills, experience, education, and other factors permitted by law. This role may also be eligible for performance-based bonuses subject to HCL policies. In addition, this role is eligible for the following benefits subject to HCL policies: medical, dental, vision, pharmacy, life, accidental death & dismemberment, and disability insurance; employee assistance program; 401(k) retirement plan; 10 days of paid time off (PTO) per year (some positions are eligible for unlimited PTO); and 10 paid holidays per year.
