Senior Field Service Technician

Job Summary The Senior Field Service Technician is responsible for initiating and executing field service activities at customer sites in a safe, efficient, and professional manner. This role includes troubleshooting and repairing mechanical, electrical, and diesel-powered equipment; performing preventative maintenance; managing parts inventory; and identifying and correcting safety concerns involving both company- and customer-owned equipment. The technician will regularly interact directly with customers and may support multiple systems, locations, and customer sites. Responsibilities To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily: Promote and maintain a safe work environment and safety-focused culture Properly maintain and care for company property and equipment Demonstrate accountability, innovation, and empowerment in daily work activities Collaborate effectively within a team environment Work independently with minimal supervision Perform proactive troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair activities Identify and resolve equipment and operational issues in a timely manner Provide professional customer support and communication while onsite Maintain accurate service documentation and reporting Candidates must meet company driving requirements, including completion of the following: Driver Application for Employment Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) review Required forms and documentation include: Driver Disclosure and Release Employee Applicant Drug and Alcohol Statement FMCSA Certificate of Awareness Driver Certificate of Violations Driver Statement of On-Duty Hours Road Test Documentation Valid Driver's License Valid Medical Certificate Education & Experience Requirements High school diploma or equivalent required Ability to obtain a CDL Class A or B with applicable endorsements Experience Requirements Ability to obtain required customer clearances (TWIC, DISA, etc.) Ability to obtain a DOT Medical Card Clean driving record required Previous technical or field service experience preferred 2-5 years of technical work experience, preferably in industrial or commercial process water systems Skills & Qualifications Experience with electrical, mechanical, diesel, or fusion systems depending on business unit requirements Ability to work independently without direct supervision Strong technical aptitude and troubleshooting skills Proficiency with Microsoft Office and smart devices Strong customer service and communication skills Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities Ability to interpret and communicate technical information clearly Ability to leverage customer feedback and field experience to develop effective solutions, including in complex or unexpected situations Join the global Xylem team to be a part of innovative technology solutions transforming water usage, conservation, and re-use.
