Job Description

1-800 Water Damage of Nassau County is hiring a full-time Restoration Technician to join a growing, owner-operated crew. We handle water, fire, and mold emergencies for homeowners and businesses across Nassau County — and we're scaling. If you take pride in doing the job right, showing up when it matters, and being part of a tight team, we want to talk to you. No two days are the same. One morning you're extracting water from a flooded basement; that afternoon you're setting up drying equipment and walking a stressed homeowner through what happens next. You're the person who shows up in a crisis and makes it better. What You'll Do
  • Respond to water, fire, and mold emergencies at homes and businesses
  • Extract water, set up and monitor drying equipment (air movers, dehumidifiers, moisture meters)
  • Demo and remove damaged materials; keep the job site clean and organized
  • Document jobs with photos and notes (we'll train you on our software — Encircle)
  • Keep your truck stocked, clean, and ready to roll
  • Communicate clearly and respectfully with homeowners during a stressful time
  • Rotate on-call for nights and weekends (emergencies don't keep business hours) What We're Looking For
  • Reliable, on time, and ready to work hard — this is physical, hands-on work
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record (you'll drive company vehicles)
  • Able to lift 50+ lbs regularly and work on your feet
  • Willing to be part of an on-call rotation for after-hours emergencies
  • Comfortable being the calm, professional face in front of upset customers
  • A team player who keeps tools, trucks, and job sites tight Nice to have (not required — we'll train the right person):
  • IICRC certification (WRT, ASD, AMRT) — certified applicants start at $26 an hour and goes up with how many IICRC certifications you have!
  • Construction, carpentry, plumbing, or trade experience
  • Prior restoration or mitigation experience Pay & Benefits
  • $20•24/hr to start for entry-level techs (no experience — we provide paid training)•$26•32/hr for experienced and/or IICRC-certified techs•Overtime and additional pay for on-call shifts•Paid training and a clear path to lead tech / crew leader•Company vehicle and equipment provided on the job Why 1-800 Water Damage of Nassau County?
