We are seeking a motivated and skilled Lead Field Technician to join our growing family-owned hearth and chimney company. This position is ideal for someone with strong technical abilities, leadership skills, and a commitment to providing exceptional customer service. As a Lead Field Technician, you will be responsible for performing and leading chimney sweeps, inspections, maintenance, repairs, and the installation of wood, gas, pellet, and electric fireplaces, inserts, and stoves. You will serve as a mentor to entry-level technicians while ensuring jobs are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards. Responsibilities Lead and perform chimney sweeping, maintenance, and inspections Perform Level 1, 2, and 3 inspections Install wood, gas, pellet, and electric stoves, inserts, and fireplaces Install and service chimney liners, venting systems, and related components Diagnose and troubleshoot fireplace, stove, and chimney issues Educate customers on system operation, maintenance, and safety Complete detailed inspection reports and job documentation using company software Train and mentor apprentice and entry-level technicians Ensure company vehicles, tools, and equipment are properly maintained Follow all safety standards, manufacturer specifications, and company procedures Represent the company professionally at all times Qualifications Previous experience in chimney sweeping, hearth installation, construction, roofing, HVAC, masonry, or a related skilled trade preferred Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills Leadership experience or ability to lead a crew Excellent customer service and communication skills Ability to safely work on roofs, ladders, and elevated surfaces Ability to lift 75+ pounds and perform physically demanding work Valid driver's license with a clean driving record Ability to work independently and make sound decisions in the field Industry certifications are a plus but not required What We Offer Competitive pay: $22-$30 per hour , based on experience Full-time, year-round employment Benefits package Paid training and continuing education opportunities Career advancement opportunities Company-provided tools and equipment Supportive team environment Opportunity to build a long-term career with a respected local company About Us We are a family-owned and operated hearth and chimney company dedicated to providing exceptional service, quality workmanship, and customer education.
