Nesco Resource is seeking a Field Service Technician to join a growing automation and machine-building company in Victor, NY. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with mechanical, electrical, maintenance, machine tool, or automation experience who is looking to build a career in advanced automation. You'll work alongside experienced engineers and machine builders while gaining hands-on exposure to custom automation systems, robotics, controls, vision systems, and industrial technologies.
Pay Rate:
$27.00•$37.00/hour, based on experience Overtime Opportunities 10% Travel Premium While Traveling Per Diem for
Travel Assignments Shift:
Day Shift | Monday•
Friday Travel Required:
Approximately 10%•30%
Key Responsibilities:
Assist with installation, startup, and service support of custom automation equipment at customer sites Support machine assembly, debugging, testing, and checkout activities in the manufacturing facility Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and automation systems Assist with PLC, HMI, robotics, motion control, and vision system integration Support Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) activities Diagnose equipment issues and perform repairs in the field and in-house Document service activities and communicate findings effectively Work closely with engineering and machine-building teams to support project success Maintain a professional and customer-focused approach while onsite
Qualifications:
2 years of experience in manufacturing, maintenance, machine tools, automation, field service, or related technical fields Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills Experience using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment Ability to work independently and as part of a team Strong verbal and written communication skills Willingness to travel up to 30% as needed Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
Preferred Qualifications:
OEM machine build or field service experience Exposure to PLCs, HMIs, robotics, motion controls, or vision systems Maintenance Technician or Automation Technician background Experience with industrial automation equipment and controls
Technical Exposure:
PLC/HMI platforms (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, etc.) Industrial networks (EtherNet/IP, Profinet, Modbus) Industrial robotics (Fanuc, ABB, KUKA, etc.) Vision systems (Cognex, Keyence, etc.) Electrical panels, field wiring, pneumatics, and mechanical systems Custom automation and systems integration projects
