Job Description

Field Service Technician - 37-40/hr - 1st Shift Job Description This role focuses on developing and improving electrical and plumbing schematics and blueprints for custom fluid-filling machinery used on automotive final assembly lines. You will apply your maintenance background in a design and troubleshooting capacity, without performing hands-on mechanical or electrical work on the equipment. Responsibilities Develop and improve electrical schematics and blueprints for custom machinery that fills fluids in vehicles on final assembly lines. Assist in creating and updating detailed drawings and documentation for machine electrical panels, wiring, pumps, and valves. Review existing schematics and identify opportunities to improve clarity, safety, and functionality. Collaborate with internal teams to ensure that machine designs meet the specific requirements and specifications of each manufacturing facility. Apply troubleshooting skills to interpret and refine wiring diagrams and panel layouts for systems ranging from 24V to 480V. Support panel wiring and panel building activities by providing accurate and complete schematic documentation. Perform wire tracing within electrical panels to verify and validate schematic accuracy. Incorporate an understanding of plumbing systems, including valves and pumps, into the schematic and blueprint development process. Ensure all design work aligns with internal standards, best practices, and applicable safety guidelines. Communicate clearly with engineering, production, and maintenance teams to resolve design-related questions and issues. Essential Skills Strong experience with schematic and blueprint development and improvement for industrial machinery or similar equipment. Ability to troubleshoot and interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams. Hands-on understanding of wiring, panel wiring, and panel building concepts sufficient to create accurate documentation. Ability to perform wire tracing within panels to verify schematic correctness. Solid electrical understanding of systems ranging from 24V to 480V. Working knowledge of plumbing systems, including valves and pumps, and how they integrate into machinery. Ability to work effectively in a structured, organized environment and manage multiple design tasks. Strong attention to detail and accuracy in technical documentation. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience working with custom or niche industrial machinery is beneficial. Familiarity with equipment used on automotive final assembly lines is a plus. Comfort collaborating with cross-functional teams, including engineering, production, and maintenance. Ability to adapt to evolving project requirements and customer specifications. Strong communication skills to explain technical details clearly to non-design personnel. Why Work Here? The typical schedule follows a first-shift pattern, Monday through Friday from 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM. The environment emphasizes orderliness, safety, and clarity, enabling focused work on schematic and blueprint development. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Moraine, OH. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $32.00/hr.
