• Full-time Job Overview Columbus Compaction, a division of Komar Industries, is seeking an experienced Class A CDL Installation Technician to perform the installation of balers, compactors and industrial equipment.

The primary job functions of this position will be to lead the installation of this equipment by loading, transporting setting in place, configuring and starting up the equipment at customer sites. Columbus Compaction is hiring due to company and client growth!

Responsibilities:

Safely operating commercial vehicles (requiring a CDL Class A) to transport equipment to customer sites. This includes loading, securing, and unloading products. Installing and configuring commercial trash compactors, industrial balers and other industrial equipment or systems. This often involves using hand and power tools, welders and torches to ensuring proper functionality. Performing preventative maintenance and troubleshooting mechanical issues on vehicle/equipment Interacting with customers, confirming deliveries, and addressing any questions or concerns. Completing required paperwork, maintaining accurate records of installations, and detailing jobsite conditions. Adhering to DOT regulations, company safety policies, and relevant building codes during transport and installation.

Requirements:

Must have strong mechanical and technical skills with mechanic's background Previous experience in mechanical, welding, and/or hydraulics. Experience working with diesel or industrial machines Previous forklift experience preferred Valid Class A CDL required Good driving record Must be willing to work overtime when requested by manager and based on business needs (50+ hours a week). On-call required. Should be detail oriented & have strong customer service skills Should be able to work independently with little supervision Ability to lift-up to 50 lbs. Class A CDL Installation Technicians are provided with a fully stocked service/semi vehicle.
