PACKAGE, PTO, 401k and More! Job Summary We are seeking a skilled and motivated Traveling Field Service Technician to join our team. This position is responsible for coordinating service projects, attending customer and vendor meetings, and performing the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and modification of industrial machinery. The ideal candidate possesses strong mechanical aptitude, excellent organizational skills, and a commitment to delivering exceptional customer service while traveling to customer locations throughout the United States and internationally.
Key Responsibilities:
Field Service & Machine Support Install, assemble, disassemble, troubleshoot, and repair machinery accurately and efficiently. Perform preventative maintenance inspections and provide detailed maintenance reports. Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues to minimize downtime and maximize operational efficiency. Perform electrical upgrades and modifications to existing machinery. Recommend machine improvements and modifications to enhance performance and reliability. Clean repaired components and surrounding equipment as necessary. Complete all assigned projects accurately, thoroughly, and on schedule.
Project Coordination:
Prepare and coordinate field service projects, including scheduling, travel arrangements, and ensuring required parts and tools are available. Conduct organized pre-project and post-project meetings and maintain detailed meeting notes. Follow established procedures for parts and service projects. Submit field service reports, preventative maintenance reports, expense reports, and business trip documentation within established deadlines. Maintain maintenance logs and service records for both Field Service and Sales departments. Handle customer inquiries and maintain organized project correspondence records.
Technical & Shop Duties:
Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, assembly drawings, and parts drawings. Accurately identify and highlight parts requiring replacement or future service attention. Perform precise measurements and maintain required tolerances during all project work. Fabricate and machine parts using manual equipment according to engineering drawings. Set up and operate manual lathes, mills, grinders, drills, and related equipment. Select, align, secure, and remove fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials. Use gauges and precision measuring instruments to verify dimensional accuracy. Verify all tools are accounted for before departing customer sites and properly organized upon return.
Customer Service & Communication:
Provide professional and responsive customer support during all service activities. Maintain strong customer relationships through clear communication and quality workmanship. Review customer interview sheets and service requests to ensure complete understanding of project requirements. Monitor and respond to company communications, including email, while traveling.
Physical Requirements:
Frequently move materials weighing up to 40 pounds. Lift and carry items weighing up to 75 pounds. Utilize safe lifting practices and team lifting procedures for items exceeding 75 pounds. Ability to stand, bend, kneel, climb, and work in industrial environments for extended periods.
Qualifications Required Education & Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent required. Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings. Working knowledge of the metric system. Basic reading, writing, arithmetic, and computer skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

Willingness to learn new skills and share knowledge with team members. Ability to work a flexible schedule, including extended travel as needed. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Travel Requirements:
Extensive travel required, including overnight stays. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. Ability to obtain and maintain a valid passport. Ability to travel by air domestically and internationally.
