Job Summary:
Job Description The Coos Watershed Association is seeking a Seed Collection Crew Member to join its dynamic team. This is an at-will, temporary, hourly, non-exempt, seasonal position working up to 40 hours per week, primarily in the field. The Association is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit focused on supporting environmental integrity and economic stability within the Coos watershed through community-based natural resource management. Job Duties
  • Collect seed from native plant species
  • Store and process seeds to prepare seed mixes
  • Assist with operation and maintenance of the Matson Creek Native Plant Nursery
  • Safely operate power tools
  • Communicate respectfully with staff, supervisors, partners, and the Board
  • Maintain a team-oriented, collaborative approach
  • Perform other duties as assigned Requirements
  • Knowledge of native and invasive plant species in the Pacific Northwest
  • Strong interpersonal and professional communication skills
Preferred:
valid driver's license, auto insurance, reliable vehicle, Oregon ATV Safety Card, and ability to meet at job sites in the Coos Bay area Employer Notes - Qualified candidates will possess the following:
  • Ability to navigate using a map and GPS
  • Ability to work productively in a collaborative environment
  • Ability to adjust to variable schedules, including early mornings, long hours, and seasonal fluctuations
  • Ability to work in varied weather conditions such as wind, rain, sun, heat, and cold
  • Ability to lift 40 pounds Hours Up to 40 hours per week; primarily field-based; schedule varies seasonally and by project needs.
Wages/Benefits Starting wage: $19.12 per hour, depending on experience. Benefits include sick leave.
