Our Field Operations team is at the center of everything we do. We are looking for a Service Technician based in the Harrisburg, Allentown, or Lancaster region to support our growing service operations across the PA/NJ region. This is a hands-on, field-based role where you will diagnose, repair, and maintain commercial fitness equipment while working directly with customers and managing your own daily schedule.What You'll Be Doing:

PA/NJ Region (field-based role with daily travel) The Service Technician is a field-based service and repair role focused on diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining commercial fitness equipment for ASF customers. Success in this role means maximizing first-visit fixes, communicating clearly with customers, and keeping an accurate personal parts depot. In addition to technical work, the technician actively grows the service business in the assigned territory by promoting Preventive Maintenance (PM) agreements, identifying repair and upgrade opportunities, and turning estimates around quickly. After a hands-on training period, the technician will assume full responsibility for the duties outlined below. The role includes managing a personal parts depot, processing parts receiving, coordinating estimates, and maintaining an efficient customer schedule. The Service Technician reports directly to the Director of Service, with performance evaluated in conjunction with the VP of Field Operations. The ideal candidate will have prior experience as a service technician, a strong customer focus, and be located within the Harrisburg, Allentown, or Lancaster region. While PA/NJ is the primary service area, travel to additional regions may be required to support company needs. The assigned territory may change based on business requirements. A.Perform Service Operations:
This task involves performing service calls, managing spare parts inventory and receiving, preparing estimates, and maintaining accurate service records Prepare for each service call to maximize first-visit repair success. This includes pre-diagnosing issues, ordering parts in advance, consulting vendor technical support, and coordinating with customers. Perform or direct all aspects of the service call. Follow up with your assigned Service Coordinator to resolve outstanding issues. Manage a personal parts depot and inventory. Maintain organized and accurate stock records, track on-hand quantities and usage in real time, and sustain minimum levels for high-demand parts. Process parts receiving in coordination with your assigned Service Coordinator. Verify quantities, part numbers, and condition upon receipt, promptly report discrepancies or damage, and document all packing slips. Obtain part numbers and pricing for customer estimates. Confirm accuracy with vendors and provide parts information to the Service Coordinator quickly to minimize customer downtime. Support spare parts inventory planning with your assigned Service Coordinator and Director of Service. Organize and stock parts, track usage, and process returns and defective part credits. Contribute to warranty reimbursement by supplying accurate serial numbers and warranty information. Complete and submit all required service documentation daily, including repair orders and parts used/received forms. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all service activities in the company's service management system to ensure your Service Coordinator can verify current job status at any time. Maintain company assets, including vehicles and tools, ensuring proper upkeep and replacement when needed under the direction of the Director of Service. Plan and maintain an efficient daily/weekly schedule that minimizes drive time and repeat visits, grouping calls by location and parts availability while meeting customer commitments. Build Preventive Maintenance (PM) agreement business. Develop the service book of business in the territory. Proactively identify repair, parts, and upgrade opportunities; document and price estimates quickly; and route cross-sell/upsell leads (e.g., accessories or replacements) to Sales where appropriate. B. Occasional Support for Delivery/Installation Operations (as needed): Service Technicians may occasionally assist the Installation Team with deliveries or post-installation visits. This work requires coordination with the Director of Field Operations and your assigned Service Coordinator. Follow up with customers, sales staff, and vendors as needed to resolve issues and ensure complete customer satisfaction. C. Assist withReceiving Operations:
Receive or direct the receipt of parts shipments to the technician's depot, verify contents against packing slips, document receipts with your Service Coordinator, and follow up with appropriate Advantage personnel to resolve shortages, overages, or damages.II. SKILL REQUIREMENTS
A. Interpersonal/Communication Skills The Service Technician must communicate effectively and professionally with customers, coworkers, vendors, and management. As a company representative, professionalism, courtesy, and teamwork are essential. The technician must also be able to work collaboratively with small teams as needed to meet workload demands. B. Mechanical Troubleshooting/Repair Skills Strong aptitude for analyzing, assembling, troubleshooting, and repairing mechanical equipment. C. Electrical Troubleshooting/Repair Skills Ability to diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair electrical and electronic equipment. D. Physical Strength Ability to lift and move heavy equipment safely. This position regularly requires lifting up to 150 lbs. E. Organizational/Planning Skills Proven ability to plan efficient routes, manage parts inventory, process parts receiving and returns accurately, and prioritize estimates and repairs to minimize repeat visits. F. General Characteristics The Service Technician must conduct him/herself in a professional manner, be dependable, and maintain strong attention to detail. The technician is expected to supply and maintain a complete set of tools necessary for performing repairs and maintenance in the field. A valid driver's license with a clean driving record is required.III. HOURS REQUIRED
The required hours are somewhat flexible to accommodate the specific scheduling requirements of each week, but the average work week is approximately 40 to 55 hours per week as follows: Monday throughFriday:
8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.Saturday:
Hours may occasionally be required.Sundays:
Usually not required Earlier start or later finish times may be needed for specific service calls or to align with customer hours. Total hours worked may exceed 55 hours from time to time during peak season loading. Overnight travel may be required during peak periods.IV. COMPENSATION/BENEFITS
This is a non-exempt, hourly position eligible for overtime pay and full company benefits, including health, dental, and 401(k) plans.
