Description Visual Sound is seeking an experienced Field Service Technician in Mechanicsburg, PA. This role is responsible for providing excellent service to our customer base, performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting of integrated systems, repairs of components, and quality control of installed systems. The Field Service Technician will also provide installation support to our sales staff for audio-visual projects.

Responsibilities :

Provide on-site and preventative service calls to customer job sites. Ability to trouble-shoot complex audio, video, and control systems, includes replacing and/or repairing

projection systems, video/audio systems control and switchers. Arrange for product returns and/or exchanges with the service coordinator. Install, modify, and test integrated systems. Includes selecting, set up and operation of standard test equipment and interfacing between Project Manager and client. Provide technical assistance to other departments and staff, as needed. Provide technical phone support (e.g., answer questions, troubleshoot suggestions) to customers and internal staff. Provide Service Coordinators with assigned case numbers and close-out paperwork / information in a timely manner. Demonstrate product and system capabilities to all levels of clients, including one on one situations. Provide all documentation in a timely manner (e.g., material and labor reports. preventative maintenance reports, expense reports, job costing records, time sheets). Develop and promote the company's presence as a service provider in the assigned market. Establish and support customers utilizing personal selling skills and contacts. Perform other activities and responsibilities as directed by the immediate manager. Position Requirements BS degree in Electronic Engineering or equivalent job experience and a technical degree/certificate. 3-5 years of related experience servicing audiovisual systems Ability to work in fast-paced environments and handle multiple tasks simultaneously. Outstanding customer service ability. Strong communication skills, verbal and written. Ability to read and comprehend blueprints, schematics, and training manuals. Ability to operate multi-meter, oscilloscope and other related industry and test equipment. Computer literate e.g., Windows, MS Word, MS Excel, and scheduling programs, as well as a good understanding of computer functionality. Basic knowledge of industry software such as AMX, Crestron and DSP set up. Experience with Sony, Barco, NEC, AMX and other common AV manufacturers. Experience with Cisco / Extron Switchers. SMART Apprentice training a plus Detail-oriented and self-sufficient with excellent time management skills. Strong problem solving and troubleshooting abilities. Able to lift 50 pounds.
