Field Service Technician (Traveling)•
Data Center Power Systems Location:
Wilkes‑Barre, PA (Regional Travel•70%)

Pay Rate:
$36.30•$39.00/hour Our client is hiring Traveling Field Service Technicians to support commissioning and service of electrical power equipment at large data center sites. This is a hands‑on field role focused on testing, energizing, and troubleshooting switchgear and electrical distribution systems after installation. What You'll Do Travel to customer data center and industrial sites to support field activities Install and modify electrical and mechanical components, including: Switchgear sections Circuit breakers Bus bars Panelboard interiors Power cabling and control wiring Perform testing and commissioning of electrical assemblies and power systems Energize equipment and verify proper operation Troubleshoot electrical circuits, control systems, and related networking equipment Support preventive maintenance, field installations, and equipment upgrades Coordinate with contractors, customers, project managers, and manufacturing teams Provide technical product support during and after installation Required Skills & Experience Technical degree or equivalent experience 2+ years of experience in one of the following environments: Manufacturing Data centers Field service Industrial or power distribution Hands‑on experience with electrical switchgear and control systems Ability to read and interpret electrical wiring diagrams and schematics Willingness to travel up to 70%, including evenings and weekends when needed Nice to Have Data center experience Military electrical or technical background Experience with OEM equipment (ABB, Eaton, Schneider, Siemens, etc.) Travel & Schedule Details Normal daytime shift Primarily regional travel Occasional travel assignments up to 2 weeks at a time All travel expenses covered (flights, hotels, rental cars, per diem) Company follows California labor laws Paid weekend time when onsite Overtime eligibility Strong earning potential while traveling

$36.30•$39.00 per hour
