Full time Description This role involves driving to the company shop in York PA daily, and completing traveling projects in PA, MD, and NY to test out buildings and construction products. This company specializes in testing buildings during the pre-construction phase, by unraveling fire hoses and testing the durability of commercial buildings for natural disasters, fire, wind, and rain. Candidates with a general construction, fire fighting, roofing, concrete background tend to be the most successful in this role. Responsibilities Travel with the crew to various job sites after meeting at the shop each morning. Assist the lead technician with setting up large water hoses, including unraveling and positioning them safely and efficiently. Monitor water flow through hoses, remaining on-site for periods of 30 to 60 minutes while water runs. Disconnect and pack up water hoses and related equipment once testing or water flow is complete. Set up and tear down ladders in accordance with safety guidelines. Use hand tools, power tools, and basic construction tools to support field operations as directed. Company will provide housing if you are traveling out of town for work. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of York, PA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $19.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
