Company Overview Omega Design Corporation designs and manufactures pharmaceutical packaging equipment: unscramblers, desiccant feeders, bundlers, stretch banders, and serialization systems - for customers in the pharmaceutical, nutraceutical, food, and distillery industries. We have been building specialized equipment for decades and serve customers across North America, with some presence in South America, Europe, and Asia. Overview We are seeking a motivated and energetic Field Service Technician to join our team. The Field Service Technician provides on-site and remote electrical, mechanical, and controls support for new and existing Omega customers. This role is responsible for commissioning, startup, troubleshooting, repair and customer training. Our Technicians represent Omega directly to customers and are expected to maintain a high standard of professionalism, documentation and safety compliance at all times. This roll does not perform equipment installation, rigging, or permanent electrical hookup. Duties Travel to customer sites to perform commissioning, startup, troubleshooting and repair of Omega equipment - both mechanical and electrical/controls systems. Diagnose and resolve control system issues including PLC programs, HMI configurations, vision systems, motion control systems, and robotic integrations. Modify machine control programs (PLC programs, HMIs, and related systems) as required in coordination with the Service Controls Engineer and Service Manager. Read and interpret schematics, mechanical drawings, and technical manuals to diagnose issues accurately. Modify panel layouts and wiring schematics in the field as required; document all changes and communicate them to the Service Manager for engineering follow-up. Train customer personnel in the setup, operation, and basic maintenance of Omega equipment. Complete a Field Service Report (FSR) for every site visit, submitted within 24 hours of completing the service event. Submit expense reports via Paylocity within the timeframe required by company policy. Coordinate travel arrangements through the company's designated travel process; communicate scheduling needs to the Service Manager in advance. Follow all host employer safety programs at customer sites; adhere to Omega's Field Service Safety requirements at all times. Document all service activities thoroughly in service reports for quality assurance and future reference. Experience and Qualifications Working knowledge and proven experience with mechanical and electrical assembly; ability to operate machine and hand tools. PLC and HMI programming skills with special emphasis on Allen Bradley platforms. Electromechanical troubleshooting skills; ability to document conditions, actions taken and outcomes clearly. Knowledge of motion control systems including servo motors, stepper motors and drives. Excellent communication skills and ability to relate to customer needs. Ability to travel a minimum of 50% of the time, including international travel: must have passport. Education Associates degree and/or technical training school completion required, or equivalent combination of eduction and demonstrated hands-on experience of 5 years in a field service or industrial eletromechanical role.
