Job Summary This position involves providing installation, start-up, troubleshooting, training, and maintenance support for grinding and dispersion equipment manufactured by an OEM. The role primarily requires onsite service, with some remote support. Located in Exton, PA, a vibrant community known for its rich history, excellent schools, and proximity to major cities, this position offers a dynamic work environment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Provide customer service through phone, email, video calls, and in-person interactions to resolve equipment issues. Complete and sign off on troubleshooting and startup reports, both manually and electronically. Perform commissioning, start-up, and training for new equipment at customer facilities, including installation checks, functional testing, operational checks, and maintenance training. Conduct preventative maintenance or service tasks that customers cannot perform independently, such as changing bearings, mechanical seals, electrical troubleshooting, or rebuilding mills with new parts. Offer technical support for customer property returned to our facility for repair and assist customers and coworkers with technical support, including part identification and reading drawings. Provide technical support for converting equipment to newer model designs. Train customers onsite on equipment operation, maintenance, and documentation usage. Write and revise procedures for the service department. Document project progress and provide status updates as required. Travel as needed, up to 80%, including domestic and international travel, and handle travel arrangements and expense reports. Experience:
Experience or equivalent training in a field of technology such as mechanical, electrical, or a similar field, or a degree in engineering or a related technical degree. A minimum of 2 years' experience in machine maintenance is required. Previous field service experience is preferred. Language and Communication Skills:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence and speak effectively before groups of customers or employees. Mathematical Skills:
Ability to calculate figures such as discounts, interest, and percentages and apply concepts such as fractions and proportions to practical situations. Reasoning Ability:
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form. Other Skills and Abilities:
Ability to read and understand mechanical drawings and electrical schematics, use hand tools, and demonstrate mechanical and electrical aptitude. Knowledge of PLC and VFD or the ability to acquire this knowledge. Proficiency in Microsoft Office products. Other Qualifications:
Must be willing to travel as needed, up to 80%, with most flights being within the US and Canada. Must have and maintain a valid driver's license and be able to acquire a passport.
