Role Overview:
Our company is hiring a Field Service Technician - Intermediate to support operations in West Texas. Candidates located in the Fort Smith, Arkansas area are strongly encouraged to apply , as regular travel from Fort Smith to West Texas will be required for the rotation schedule. This position is contract-to-hire , beginning as a contract role with the intent to transition into a full-time permanent position after a successful initial period. The technician will work a standard rotation of 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off , performing equipment maintenance and technical service tasks at remote field sites in West Texas. Company-provided housing is available during on-site rotations.
Hourly Pay:
$24-$30/hr (based on experience)
Key Responsibilities:
Install, maintain, and repair equipment at remote field sites in West Texas, ensuring reliable operation of mechanical and electrical systems Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues quickly to minimize downtime and maintain operational continuity Follow all company safety standards and protocols, including PPE and remote work procedures Document completed work in service logs; provide daily updates on progress, issues, and incidents Coordinate with operations teams and other technicians to ensure effective communication and timely issue resolution
Required Qualifications:
Experience:
Minimum 1 year in field service, equipment maintenance, industrial operations, or related technical role
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent (technical training is a plus)
Skills:
Strong mechanical aptitude with basic electrical knowledge; ability to use diagnostic tools and interpret manuals/drawings
Tools:
Must provide own basic hand tools ; specialty tools will be company-provide
Travel & Work Conditions:
Ability and willingness to travel to West Texas for rotation work Ideally based near Fort Smith, AR for travel logistics Capable of working outdoors in remote environments (lifting up to ~50 lbs, climbing, working in varying weather)
Other:
Valid driver's license; self-motivated with strong problem-solving ability and ability to work independently
Preferred Qualifications:
Technical certification or vocational training in industrial maintenance, mechanics, instrumentation, or a related field Experience with rotation-based or remote field work (oil & gas, utilities, mining, etc.) Familiarity with industry safety standards; certifications such as OSHA or H2S are a plus Strong communication skills and ability to coordinate effectively with a team
Work Schedule & Rotation:
This position follows a fixed rotation schedule of 2 weeks on-site in West Texas and 2 weeks off . Travel between the technician's home base (Fort Smith area) and the field location is a required part of this role.
Compensation:
