Up to 80% in surrounding area Position Overview We are seeking a hands-on Field Service Technician to support the commissioning, maintenance, troubleshooting, and overhaul of large-scale gas engines used in power generation and renewable energy applications. This role is highly field-oriented and ideal for mechanically inclined technicians who enjoy travel, autonomy, and solving complex engine and system issues in real-world environments. Technicians will work on advanced reciprocating engines (0.25-9.5 MW), supporting critical infrastructure such as utilities, industrial facilities, and renewable energy sites. Key Responsibilities Perform planned and unplanned maintenance on gas engines Execute minor and major engine repairs in accordance with service protocols Support and perform major service events and in-frame rebuilds Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical and electrical issues using tools such as multimeters and diagnostic software Assist with commissioning activities and operational testing of engines and related systems Collaborate with team members on large projects while also working independently in the field Complete administrative tasks such as timesheets, expense reports, and service documentation Basic Qualifications High School Diploma or GED Valid driver's license with ability to meet insurability requirements Ability and willingness to travel up to 80% (including overnight travel) Ability to work remotely and independently Legal authorization to work in the U.S. Preferred Qualifications 4+ years of experience with: Reciprocating engines, gas engines, or diesel engines Experience with engine rebuilds , including: Pistons, liners, cylinder heads, and bearings Background in: Power generation, heavy equipment, or industrial maintenance Commissioning experience Working knowledge of: Electrical systems, PLCs, and controls Ability to read and interpret: Wiring diagrams and P&IDs (Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams) Ideal Candidate Profile Diesel or heavy equipment mechanic Power generation technician Engine rebuild technician Military mechanic (engine or generator experience) Strong troubleshooting mindset with attention to detail Comfortable working in a travel-heavy, field-based role Self-motivated with the ability to work independently Safety-focused and customer-oriented Apply Today! #
