Job Description
Performs the highly skilled electronic, electrical, and mechanical technical tasks required to install, troubleshoot, repair, test, and maintain complex information technology systems and equipment such as fire alarm systems.

Required Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school or possession of a General Equivalency Diploma (GED) certificate. Three (3) years of experience in information technology systems and equipment (electronic, electrical, and mechanical) maintenance and repair, one (1) year of which shall have been at the journey level. Advanced degree(s) beyond the minimum degree requirement in a relevant field may be considered for some experience. Possession of an appropriate, valid motor vehicle operator's license with a good driving record. May be required to perform shift work, accept call-back overtime or regular overtime, and/or agree to assume a stand-by status. Knowledge of the procedures, practices, tools, test devices, and equipment involved in the operation, testing, troubleshooting, maintenance, installation, and repair of various information technology systems and equipment (electronic, electrical, and mechanical). Ability to troubleshoot and complete repairs. Ability to read and interpret instructions, diagrams, sketches, blueprints, and manufacturers' manuals. Ability to keep records and make reports. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. Preferred Technical training in electronics.Posting Title:

$60,613 - $102,317Major Duties/Essential Functions:
Performs highly technical electronic, electrical, and mechanical installation, testing, maintenance, and repairs on a broad range of equipment which may include security, fire alarm, telephone, and cable television systems; various school access and control systems such as keyless entry, clocks and bells, and public address systems; computer and related accessory hardware; in-building local area network connectivity; sound support systems; audiovisual systems; and facsimile machines. Modifies existing equipment and installs new equipment, as required. Serves on assigned repair teams and on ad hoc teams for special projects, as requested. Visits schools on a scheduled or requested basis. Confers with school personnel to give and receive information and resolve maintenance problems. Checks and tests operating condition of equipment and performs necessary and timely preventative maintenance and repairs. Decides the nature and scope of repairs or recommends disposal; makes repairs at site or in the shop. Requisitions needed parts and components. Keeps records and makes reports. Provides instruction to school personnel in the care and operation of equipment. Performs related duties as required or assigned.Work Environment/Physical Requirements:
This job requires strength, agility, dexterity, and visual acuity to perform all tasks. While performing the duties of this job, the employee must adhere to all site safety regulations and may be required to regularly stand, sit, walk, bend, climb ladders, and/or kneel. There may be exposure to extreme heat and cold, outdoor environments, heavy equipment, moving machinery, fumes, toxic or caustic chemicals, and loud noises.
