Job Description

Traveling Field Technician
  • Access Control & Security Systems Job Summary Travel Schedule:
    Monday
  • Friday (home for the weekends)
  • company paid, per diem included We are seeking a motivated Traveling Field Technician with strong electrical and mechanical experience to maintain and repair access control points (ACPs), active vehicle barriers, and related systems across the United States.
This role involves performing preventative and corrective maintenance on vehicle barriers, safety systems, portable message boards, generator light carts, and CCTV systems at industrial, commercial, government, and military sites. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with hydraulic and electro-mechanical systems, variable frequency drives (VFDs), low voltage controls, PLCs, and electrical systems. Key Responsibilities Perform inspection, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of ACPs, vehicle barriers, and CCTV systems Diagnose and repair hydraulic systems (pumps, valves, cylinders, etc.) Execute preventative and corrective maintenance using checklists and manufacturer guidelines Complete daily service reports detailing equipment condition, work performed, and recommended repairs Develop material lists and labor estimates for repairs Replace worn or damaged components and perform routine maintenance (lubrication, fluid checks, filter changes) Coordinate with client personnel to safely perform work with minimal disruption Maintain accurate electronic documentation, including reports, checklists, and client approvals Operate safely and maintain assigned service vehicle Represent the company professionally while working independently in the field Required Qualifications Experience as a field service technician working with industrial systems, motors, and drives Ability to read and interpret schematics and single-line diagrams Experience working with high voltage systems (up to 480 VAC) and low voltage controls (12-24 VDC) Valid driver's license Ability to work in the U.S. without sponsorship Ability to pass a background check and drug screening (required for access to secure facilities) Preferred Qualifications Electrical certification or licensing Experience operating heavy equipment (forklift, lull, man lift) Physical Requirements Ability to lift at least 50 pounds Travel Requirements Weekly travel across the United States (typically Monday-Friday) Company-provided credit card for approved travel expenses Per diem provided for meals and incidental expenses Training & Growth Hands-on training opportunities Ongoing skill development with a variety of advanced security systems Benefits 401(k) with company match Medical, dental, vision, and life insurance Paid time off and holidays Profit-sharing opportunities Additional company-provided allowances
