U.S. Citizen; Valid Passport Required About the Company Our client is a leading manufacturer of innovative heavy-load movement equipment utilizing advanced hovercraft and wheeled technologies. The company serves customers worldwide and is recognized for its commitment to quality, engineering excellence, and customer service. Position Summary We are seeking an experienced Field Service Technician to deliver outstanding service and support to customers by installing, troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing equipment at customer locations. This role requires extensive travel and strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills. This position reports directly to the Director of Engineering. Key Responsibilities Install, maintain, test, troubleshoot, and repair equipment at customer sites. Communicate project schedules, customer expectations, project scope, and critical updates with customers, Sales, and Engineering teams. Understand customer requirements and provide recommendations based on warranty and service agreement requirements. Diagnose technical issues and determine appropriate solutions in collaboration with Engineering and Customer Service teams. Prepare detailed service reports and documentation. Train customers on proper equipment operation and maintenance. Build and maintain positive, professional customer relationships. Assist Engineering with product testing and development of product manuals when not traveling. Coordinate travel arrangements and complete expense reports. Support mechanical and electrical assembly teams with product assembly as needed. Promote company values and contribute to a positive work environment. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Hands-on experience with at least two of the following systems (three or more preferred): Pneumatic systems Hydraulic systems Mechanical systems DC electrical systems Significant mechanical and electrical assembly experience. Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving abilities. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Basic computer skills and ability to perform electronic diagnostics. Proficiency with hand tools and power tools. Ability to perform calculations involving percentages, area, circumference, volume, unit conversions, and weights. Understanding of PLC controllers and their application in industrial systems.
Ability to read and interpret:
Electrical schematics Pneumatic diagrams Cable diagrams Experience with pneumatic, hydraulic, or mechanical systems strongly preferred. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines. Self-motivated and capable of working independently with minimal supervision. Ability to collaborate effectively across departments and build strong working relationships. Travel & Overtime Requirements Approximately 80% travel by air and automobile. Frequent overnight travel within the United States. Occasional international travel. Valid passport required. Must meet TSA travel requirements. Must be insurable to operate personal and rental vehicles. This role requires flexibility for overtime work as needed , including extended hours, evenings, weekends, and travel-related overtime depending on customer and project demands. Background Check Employment is contingent upon successfully completing a background check. Because this position involves access to customer sites with security requirements, additional screening may be required.
