Full-time Job Summary:
This position combines tasks on the road at customer job sites, which may include international locations, and in the shop as necessary and directed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Receives direction and guidance from Field Service Manager and Service & Warranty Manager for all Engendren Products. Repair of essential customer products in a timely manner to help reduce overall down time. Maintain equipment required for use in field repairs, this includes making sure equipment is current on calibration. Assist with customer installations. Assist production builds when not on field repairs. Provide repair quotes to customers. Complete required job site reports. Provide proper daily updates to customers and Field Service Manager. Customer interaction during site visit. Responsible for maintaining a professional demeanor across different sites and promoting company positivity. Cross train in different production departments as necessary to gain job knowledge. Receives direction and guidance from the Assembly Supervisor when working in our corporate headquarters.
Physical Demands:
Maximum lifting requirement (pounds): 100 (occasional). Maximum moving push/pull requirement (pounds): 250 (occasional). Maintaining physical condition necessary for the following: Frequent standing, walking, sitting, kneeling, crouching, stooping, squatting, twisting upper body, or climbing steps, ladders, scaffolds, etc. Ability to work with personnel lifting devices, cherry pickers, scissor lifts, etc. Working at heights off the ground with fall protection up to: 6 - 35 feet (occasional). Ability to work on roof tops and skyscrapers with fall protection. Ability to work in confined spaces. Ability to use manual, pneumatic, and electric wrenches, tools, etc.
Vision requirements:
Close, distance, and peripheral vision; depth perception. Corrected vision acceptable (glasses, contacts). Ability to travel with limited prenotification by auto, plane, train, etc. Domestic and international travel—1-5 days (common), 5-15+ days (rarely).
Work Environment:
Work location(s): Field visits to customer/rep locations including domestic/international travel, Engendren production floor and office.
Minor exposure to:
Fumes, airborne particles, wet/humid (non-weather) conditions, toxic/caustic chemicals, moving mechanical parts/equipment, inclement weather conditions.
Personal protective equipment requirement:
Safety glasses with side shields in shop areas here, and at customers locations. Safety toe shoes while in shop / job site environment(s). Additional PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) as per job site/length of stay requirements, such as: Fall protection equipment/harnesses; Respirators; Hard Hat; Face shields, Gloves (chemical resistant; weld; cut resistant; etc.) and/or others not specifically listed.
Position Requirements:
Ability to travel, either have or able to obtain a passport, clean driving record. High School Degree. Mechanically inclined. Adaptable to training and project-related instructions. Ability to effectively collaborate with a diverse multidisciplinary team. Ambitious, self-starting, and motivated attitude; willingness to learn. Prefer 5+ years' hands-on and troubleshooting experience. Microsoft Office proficiency, general computer skills. Good written and verbal communication skills. Soldering, some welding or ability to be trained on. Ability to read & understand layout prints, wiring diagrams, and plumbing/flow diagrams. IEA is an equal employment opportunity employer.
