Field Technician - Construction Materials Testing Hands-on fieldwork | Training provided | Career growth opportunities About Us GeoTest, Inc. is a leading Wisconsin geotechnical engineering and construction materials testing laboratory with offices in West Allis and Madison. We are ISO/IEC 17025 and WisDOT accredited and provide high-quality testing and inspection services across southern Wisconsin. What You'll Do (Essential Job Functions) Perform and document sampling, standardized testing, and construction observation services on geologically based construction materials such as soil, concrete, hot-mixed asphalt, aggregates, cement, mortar, and masonry units. Assist with installation and monitoring of geotechnical instrumentation. Construct, maintain, repair, calibrate and operate standard field and lab equipment and facilities as needed. Perform truck maintenance checks and keep company vehicle clean and orderly. Produce, pick up and retrieve samples as needed. Support laboratory technicians as needed — especially during inclement weather or heavier workloads. Follow company safety procedures. What We're Looking For Natural curiosity for how things are built and a willingness to learn civil engineering concepts— entry-level applicants welcome; we will train. A strong desire to grow and develop skills in soil and construction materials testing. Background in construction, civil, or geotechnical work is a plus. Reliability and punctuality - being on time and dependable is essential for success in this role. Valid WI driver's license and good driving record required. H.S. diploma required; A.S. in Civil Technology or related field preferred. Must pass pre-employment drug screening. Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks effectively in an autonomous environment. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with customers, vendors, and team members independently. Experience with SharePoint and Metafield Engineering software is a plus. Reporting Structure This position reports directly to the Assistant Operations Manager and works closely with laboratory staff and project managers. Career Growth We believe in promoting from within. Compensation & Benefits $17.00 - $25.00/hour, depending on experience and certifications.Bonus opportunities Benefits include:

A company vehicle is provided; on rare occasions, use of personal vehicle may be required, with mileage reimbursed. Based in West Allis or Madison, with occasional travel between locations. Schedule- Hours vary depending on project needs and season. Typical schedules fall between 6:00 am - 4:00 pm during peak construction season.
- Expect 45-60 hours per week during peak constructions season, which may include occasional weekend work.
- Off-season hours are generally lighter but still subject to project demands.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift 75 lbs pounds occasionally.
