Job Description
Property Maintenance Specialist Haute Property Co. Indianapolis, IN Job Details Part-time | Full-time | Contract $25 - $35 an hour 1 day ago Qualifications Renovation Driver's License Locksmithing Stocking Woodworking Full Job Description If you fix things right the first time, this job was written for you. We're Haute Property Co. — a growing short-term rental property management company in Indianapolis — and we're looking for a skilled, reliable Property Maintenance Specialist to join our team and help keep our properties in 5 star condition. We're looking for someone who shows up, sizes up the situation, completes assignments cleanly, and moves on to the next one, professionally and reliably. Not someone who patches a hole with hope and a prayer! If that's you, please keep reading. What This Job Actually Is Our homes are active — guests check in, things break, and we need someone who can move fast and fix it right the first time. We often have a narrow window to complete repairs between guests so efficiency is key. But it's not all emergency mode. This role is a mix of reactive and planned work. Some days you'll be responding to an urgent repair before a guest checks in. Other days you'll be working through a scheduled round of preventive maintenance — HVAC filters, gutter checks, walkthroughs, and the kind of proactive upkeep that keeps small problems from becoming big ones. We even manage a few long-term rentals and do the occasional renovation project to keep things interesting. That mix means your schedule and hours will vary week to week, and we need someone who can roll with that. This is currently a part-time 1099 position, but for the right person, there's a real path to more hours and a W-2 role as we grow. As your skillet grows and you demonstrate that you're a reliable and competent member of our team, we'll gladly send more work your way! We're building something, and we want people who want to grow with us. What You'll Be Doing Responding to urgent break/fix repairs: plumbing, drywall, painting, minor electrical, lock changes Planned preventive maintenance: HVAC filters, gutter clearing, seasonal upkeep Furniture repair and assembly Lockbox and smart home hardware installation Property walkthroughs to catch issues before guests do Coordinating with outside contractors when needed Handling the day-to-day: deliveries, trash bins, restocking supplies, whatever the property needs You're Our Person If You… Have a background in the trades (plumbing, electrical, carpentry, HVAC — or a solid mix) Own your tools and know how to use them well Show up when you say you will — every time Fix things correctly the first time, because callbacks aren't your style Communicate clearly: a quick heads-up text goes a long way Can prioritize on the fly without losing your cool Take feedback well and hold yourself to a high standard Know your limits — and say so before you're in over your head, not after Have a reliable vehicle and valid driver's license Bonus points if you've worked in short-term rentals, hotels, or furnished housing — but we'll take sharp and reliable over experienced and flaky every time. What We Offer $25-$35/hour based on skill and experience Flexible scheduling — hours vary based on the mix of reactive and planned work Consistent, ongoing work with a team that treats you like a pro Growth potential — more hours, more responsibility, and a path to W-2 as we scale
