Job Description

Maintenance Specialist We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Maintenance Specialist to join the team at Hicks Block. This role is perfect for a seasoned professional who takes pride in preserving the architectural integrity of historical or established structures while ensuring modern comfort for our residents. You won't just be "fixing things"—you will be a steward of the property, handling everything from intricate in-unit repairs to large-scale restoration and renovation projects.
Key Responsibilities:
1. In-Unit Repairs & Resident Satisfaction Diagnose and resolve plumbing issues (leaks, clogs, fixture replacements). Perform electrical repairs including lighting, outlets, and basic appliance troubleshooting. Execute high-quality drywall repairs, painting, and trim work to maintain a premium aesthetic. 2. Building Preservation & Restoration Maintain the structural and aesthetic integrity of the building's exterior and common areas. Perform specialized restoration tasks to ensure the "Hicks Block" character is preserved. Monitor building systems (HVAC, roofing, etc.) to identify and prevent potential failures. 3. Property Renovations Assist in full-unit turnovers and modern renovations. Install flooring, cabinetry, and hardware with precision. Collaborate on project timelines to ensure renovations are completed efficiently without compromising quality.
Requirements & Qualifications Experience:
3+ years of professional experience in property maintenance, construction, or a related trade.
Physical Fitness:
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, crawl into tight spaces, and remain on your feet for extended periods.
Tools:
Must possess a comprehensive set of basic hand and power tools to perform daily tasks.
Transportation:
A reliable personal vehicle is required for transporting tools and moving between property points.
Communication:
Must have a functional smartphone for real-time communication, work orders, and project photos.
