Job Description

About the Role Northpoint Asset Management is hiring a dependable, detail-oriented Field Technician to support our Columbus portfolio across multiple properties. This is a hands-on role that combines field inspection responsibilities (move-out, move-in, vacancy inspections, and notice posting) with light maintenance support (rekeys, lock changes, basic work orders, and identifying repair needs). This position is ideal for someone who is handy, organized, and able to work independently while communicating clearly with the team. There is room to grow into more advanced maintenance responsibilities over time. Schedule & Availability This is a part-time position with flexible hours , scheduled during daylight hours only based on workload and property needs. What You'll Do Inspections & Field Operations Complete move-in, move-out, and vacancy inspections , documenting property conditions accurately Post notices as required and confirm completion with photo/documentation Perform vacancy and safety checks to ensure homes are secure, safe, and ready for marketing Identify turnover/make-ready needs and help build repair scopes by noting issues, materials, and recommended next steps Light Maintenance & Work Orders Complete daily work orders and basic repairs across multiple sites as assigned Troubleshoot and fix basic issues in: plumbing, electrical, drywall, paint, appliances, locks/doors, and basic HVAC Perform handyman-style tasks such as: tightening hardware, replacing bulbs, patching small holes, and minor plumbing fixes Change locks, rekey, install lockboxes , and support unit security tasks Assist with HVAC filter changes and other routine preventive maintenance Maintain property standards by keeping sites clean, safe, and up to Northpoint standards Communication & Documentation Provide clear updates to supervisors and property managers on status, findings, and completion Coordinate with vendors/contractors as needed and help oversee access or completion when assigned Track materials used, maintain organized records, and document work completed (notes/photos as required) What You'll Need Reliable vehicle (required) and ability to travel between sites Reliable phone and computer (required) Light tools appropriate for basic maintenance tasks (required) Maintenance experience in multifamily, single-family, or related environments Comfortable completing inspections and documentation with attention to detail Strong communication, follow-through, and professionalism in occupied/vacant homes Ability to work independently, stay accountable, and manage a multi-site schedule Certifications & Preferred Experience Experience supervising or coordinating contractors/vendors (preferred) Experience identifying turnover/make-ready needs and basic scope building (preferred) Benefits Mileage reimbursement for approved work-related travel

$20.00 - $22.00 per hour
