Position Summary The Home Services Technician or "Handyperson" is responsible for performing a wide range of general repair, maintenance, and improvement tasks in residential and/or commercial settings. This role requires practical knowledge of multiple trades, strong problem‑solving skills, and the ability to work independently while delivering high‑quality, reliable service. This role supports effective communication with the customer with regards to construction-related questions and escalates all concerns appropriately to ensure complete customer satisfaction. This role works under the direction of the Specialty Construction Manager. Experience in residential construction , plumbing , electrical and concrete work is highly desired in our team. They are the face of the company, so we are looking for someone with a great attitude and professional demeanor to help create strong and lasting customer relations. Key Responsibilities Perform routine maintenance and general repair work, including carpentry, minor plumbing, electrical, painting, and drywall repairs Diagnose and troubleshoot basic maintenance issues and determine appropriate solutions Assemble, install, repair, and replace fixtures, appliances, and equipment Conduct property inspections to identify needed repairs or safety concerns Perform preventative maintenance to reduce future repair needs Maintain tools, equipment, and work vehicles in safe working conditions Communicate clearly with customers, tenants, or supervisors regarding work status and recommendations Follow safety guidelines, building codes, and company procedures Keep accurate records of work performed, materials used, and time spent Ensure work areas are clean and safe upon completion Required Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent preferred Minimum 2 years of experience in general maintenance, home repair, or a related field Working knowledge of basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and mechanical systems Ability to read and interpret repair manuals, work orders, and basic diagrams Strong problem‑solving and time‑management skills Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Excellent customer service and communication skills Basic computer literacy including use of electronic calendars, Microsoft Word documents and email Valid driver's license and reliable transportation (if field‑based) Preferred Qualifications Trade certifications or vocational training Experience in residential, property management, or facilities maintenance EPA, OSHA, or safety training certifications Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, climb, kneel, and bend for extended periods Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs regularly and 75 lbs occasionally Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions Ability to safely operate hand and power tools Ability to navigate active construction sites, including uneven terrain, mud, gravel and unfinished surfaces Adequate vision and hearing to perform essential job functions and maintain safety
Pay:
$26.00 - $31.00 per hour
