• Full-time, Contract Job Summary Longevity Home Construction is hiring a skilled handyperson/carpenter to work as part of a two-person team with the owner.

This position involves residential repair, maintenance, remodeling, and small construction projects in occupied homes. The right person needs to be dependable, skilled with tools, able to solve problems, and willing to take responsibility for quality work. This is a good fit for someone who has real construction experience, can work safely and professionally around clients, and wants to grow with a small company that values careful workmanship and clear communication. Key Capabilities The person in this role must be able to: Take general project goals and turn them into practical work steps. Work according to applicable code requirements, industry standards, and basic safety practices. Use hand tools and power tools safely, accurately, and efficiently. Understand written and verbal instructions. Identify safety concerns before they become problems. Take responsibility for work quality and jobsite conduct. Communicate pleasantly and clearly with the owner, clients, and any other workers on site. License and Insurance Requirements Applicants must have: Valid driver's license Reliable transportation Auto insurance County business license General liability insurance Workers compensation exemption Duties Job duties may include: Performing carpentry, repair, maintenance, and remodeling tasks based on skill level and project needs. Learning new skills as needed to meet company and project requirements. Operating tools and equipment safely and efficiently. Installing or repairing residential building components, including framing, walls, ceilings, roofing, flooring, trim, siding, decks, soffits, fascia, gutters, insulation, and related materials. Installing or repairing cabinetry, doors, electrical fixtures, plumbing fixtures, and other residential components within your skill level and legal limits. Handling materials, cleanup, loading, unloading, and other physical jobsite tasks. Assisting with restoration and repair work, including water damage repairs, mold-related repairs, siding replacement, and similar work. Working in occupied client homes with professionalism, care, and respect for the property. After the new-hire phase, independently starting and completing assigned handyman projects without immediate supervision.

Requirements Applicants must have:

General experience in construction, remodeling, handyman work, or residential repair. Skilled experience in at least one or two trades, such as framing, trim, drywall, painting, flooring, roofing, plumbing, electrical, masonry, or similar work. Ability to provide basic hand tools, power tools, and PPE. Ability to lift and move materials safely, both alone and with help. Ability to work on interior and exterior jobsites in varying conditions. Ability to read and follow installation instructions, manufacturer instructions, technical drawings, and basic schematics. Strong problem-solving ability. Dependability, honesty, and a professional attitude around clients. Preferred Qualifications The following are preferred but not required: Residential construction, restoration, or installation certifications Contractor licensing at any level Experience working independently in occupied homes Experience communicating directly with homeowners Work Environment This is hands-on residential construction and repair work. Some days will involve skilled finish work. Other days may involve dirty, physical, or repetitive tasks. The job requires someone who can stay focused, work safely, and maintain a professional standard even when the work is difficult or conditions are not ideal.
