Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Equipment Manager to oversee the maintenance, repair, and optimal functioning of our diverse fleet of equipment and vehicles. This vital role ensures that all machinery, vehicles, including heavy-duty equipment, generators, and automotive assets, operate efficiently and reliably. The Equipment Manager will lead a team of skilled technicians, coordinate repairs, manage inventory, and implement preventative maintenance programs to support our environment, and enjoy leading technical teams, this is an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact. Duties Supervise and coordinate the daily operations of the equipment maintenance team, ensure timely repair, and servicing of all equipment, including vehicles, generators, heavy machinery, and hand tools. Develop and implement preventative maintenance schedules for all equipment, including diesel engines, generators, and automotive assets. Diagnose mechanical issues using schematics, electrical diagrams, and technical manuals to identify root cause efficiently. Maintain detailed records of repairs, service history, and inventory levels for all equipment assets Collaborate with sales teams to assess equipment needs and support customer service initiatives by ensuring equipment readiness. Manage procurement of parts and supplies necessary for repairs while controlling costs and minimizing downtime. Conduct regular safety inspections to ensure compliance with industry standards and promote a safe working environment for technicians. Provide training and mentorship to technicians on new repairs techniques, safety procedures, and equipment handing. Qualifications Proven experience in heavy equipment repair environments with a strong background in service technician roles. Extensive knowledge of diesel engine repair, heavy machinery maintenance, and automotive systems. Proficiency in reading schematics, electrical diagrams, and mechanical blueprints. Hands- on experience with equipment repair including generators, caterpillar machinery, welding, soldering, and electrical troubleshooting. Strong mechanical knowledge complemented by familiarity with vehicle maintenance procedures. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to team members and clients. Ability to read technical manuals and schematics accurately; experience with Caterpillar or similar heavy equipment is a plus. Strong mechanical knowledge combined with sales acumen for parts or equipment recommendations when needed.
