Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Heavy Equipment Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy machinery and industrial equipment. Responsibilities Perform detailed diagnostics and repairs on heavy equipment including excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractors, and other industrial machinery. Conduct routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, filter replacements, hydraulic system checks, HVAC, brake repairs, transmission servicing, and tire service. Fabricate parts or components as needed using welding, soldering, hand tools, power tools, and fabrication techniques to ensure proper fit and function. Troubleshoot electrical systems including automotive diagnostics, wiring harnesses, sensors, and control modules to identify issues accurately. Repair and maintain diesel engines, air brake systems, HVAC units on equipment, suspension systems, and alignments to meet safety standards. Operate heavy machinery safely during testing. Maintain detailed service records of repairs performed, parts used, and inspections completed for compliance and future reference. Requirements Proven experience working with heavy equipment. Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in fabrication, welding, electrical diagnostics, HVAC, hydraulics, transmissions, and vehicle maintenance. Ability to read schematics and technical manuals accurately for troubleshooting complex systems. Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, soldering equipment, and other maintenance tools required for repairs. Knowledge of heavy equipment operation including crane operation or tractor-trailer handling is a plus. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients or team members. Physical ability to perform heavy lifting safely and work in various environmental conditions.
