To overhaul and repair all lawn maintenance equipment; to operate testing equipment and power tools to repair and service lawn maintenance equipment. Prior to employment or during the first 3 months of new hire probationary period, drug and alcohol testing shall be required of all new contract employees who work Operations in a safety sensitive position. Any applicants having a confirmed positive test shall not be eligible for employment. In compliance with federal law, employees required to have a Commercial Driver's License shall also be tested upon application, post-accident and at random.Key Responsibilities:
Maintain and repair off road equipment, 4 & 2 stroke engines and all types of lawn maintenance equipment Maintain, repair and overhaul gas and diesel powered industrial equipment Sharpen, repair and overhaul all types of lawn mowing equipment; gas and arc welding as needed Operate testing equipment and power tools to repair and service lawn maintenance equipment Disassemble, reassemble, repair and/or replace various mechanical parts of lawn maintenance equipment (i.e. clutches, brakes, transmissions, differential, engines, hydraulic systems, and electrical systems, etc) Make service calls for emergency repairs; perform field service and repair at district work sites when needed Process required paperwork; maintain job records; order materials and supplies; request quotes for cost information Regular and on-time attendance required Assists with other assigned duties as appropriate to the area of assignment andMesa Public Schools Required Qualifications:
Valid, or ability to obtain, Arizona driver's license Minimum two years mechanical repair experience and experience in the areas of gas (4 & 2 stroke) and diesel engines and hydraulic systems on machinery Experience, knowledge and skill in troubleshooting, repairing and overhauling small and large gas and diesel engines; minor experience with gas and arc welding Working knowledge of all tools, materials and equipment used in equipment repairPreferred Qualifications:

Primarily works in bus garages, maintenance shops, and outdoor facilities Exposed to vehicle exhaust fumes, oils, grease, loud noises, and vibration from equipment May occasionally work at off-site locations for breakdowns or repairs Safety protocols (PPE, ventilation, etc.) are usually enforced Frequent bending, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and climbing Heavy physical labor - lifting/moving parts or tools (50-100 lbs.)Equal Opportunity Employer Statement:
